If JB was allowed to draft within the top 5.

Wouldn't surprise me if he trades next summers 1st again.

Wow! Competent management with a long term plan well layed out. I'm envious.

I'm okay with trading away first round picks for the right returns but at some point, you got to recoup some back.

There are 4 players since the 2018 drafting that are scoring higher than Garland. One of them is Quinn Hughes.

Van wouldn't have been able to draft the other 3.

Early wins for both Miller and Garland trades.

At some point your prospect pool will suffer if you continue doing this every year.

Quality over quantity.

Having a great prospect pool doesn't exactly correlate to NHL success.

Canucks had top 5 pool for a number of years. Look where that got them.

Is it though? Perhaps if you want to trade them away, then yeah, but that kind of defeats the purpose of acquiring them in the first place, doesn’t it?

I believe it is the same experts, who you regularly criticize for their evaluation of undrafted players, who were ranking the Canucks system that high…🤷‍♂️

Not even remotely. There is nothing concrete out there that will tell you if trading for a player will equal team success. Heck won't even tell you individual success. It's a crap shoot(just projections). Just like trading away a player, no guarantees that the picks or prospects will equal even the individual success of the player you traded away or team success.

Jason Richardinson was supposed to make the Canucks PK better.

Rangers system was stellar, tops I believe. They don't have a drafted prospect over half a ppg right now.

I guess that means that none of those players will ever be good.

I believe you’ve stated McDavid’s talents are being wasted in Edmonton, same could be said for anyone on the Canucks who’s having individual success.

At the end of the day, in a team sport, if the team isn’t winning then nothing else really matters.

I don't ever recall having that thought. 21 playoff games in 6 years though. Crosby had 62.

I don't think thats fair to say. It may be true it may not we don't know. We've had 3 calder finalists I think since he's been here and it isn't all just the player. What I do think is he has worn out his welcome and the players are waiting for something organizational wise to happen to give them hope.

Look at me being all rational hey lol. It's so fun to just stir the pot I forgot its also nice to just be normal and have an actual conversation. Have a good day all

I was supposed to be trading Miller but what about trading Boeser?

Boeser, Utunen to Seattle for Appleton, Soucy and Seattle 2nd
(When Appleton is healthy again)

- manvanfan

Hate to say it but given Boeser’s upcoming raise, he is a negative asset. Boeser plus a 2nd for a Sutter replacement

Imagine the vitriol when Boeser turns it around and scores 30g + a year on another team.
