I'm not sure Pettersson wants to be the player the coaching staff wants him to be right now. They don't want him to be the superstar. They want him to play like the team. If you don't figure him out. It's all over. It's done. Nothing matters in the next 4-5 years.

The coaches are trying to play a style not suited to the personnel. They want to be a team that grinds down opponents to win games. The biggest challenges for the team should be to get Pettersson comfortable. They might need to sit down with him and figure it out.

Green's style is a bit of a poop show but Petey just came off an injury. The NHL season is a grind.

The type of guys I'm referring to can be found in the 2-3-4 rounds, not in the top ten of a draft. Of course you take the BPA at the top of the draft but if there isn't a great option, like the Podkolzin draft, take a defenseman with upside because Podkolzin was taken purely on potential as he hadn't proven much up to his draft year.
