Ok into the present…

What’s your moves & lines?

- Nighthawk

Not getting to in-depth, but only 3 players I wouldn't move, at this point, Demko, Hoglander and Podkolzin.
Obviously the team won't be getting rid of the rest, but everyone should be on the table.

Miller to Boston, Pouty to Rangers, Bo to Ottawa, Queen to Devils, or Arizona, Brock to Detroit. Poolman to Islanders, Hamonic to Edmonton, as examples.

I want to see a new coach before we have a firesale, or trade any of those assets aside from possibly Hamonic or Miller. WTH would Detroit give us for Boeser? They have at least 3 forwards better than him and they're doing it the right way.

I'm most hesitant to trade Bo. The guy has been disrespected for the most part since he's been here but he's by far our most complete hockey player. I don't want to give the guy $7M/yr or anything, but I'd want a huge return. He's absolutely going to help any new team he goes to immensely. He's good in all zones....playing with Pearson almost exclusively.

Really hoping they get a new GM and coach in to properly assess the team and players. Yes, the roster has huge holes, but a coach and a better system can help that a lot. I'd wait to see what the team is actually like before shipping out young core pieces.

I've been beating the JTM trade drum for a while, but the players I wouldn't move (unless a too-good-to-pass-up deal came along) would be Hughes, Petey, Demko, Hoglander, Bo, Podkolzin.

They really need to move Pearson off of Bo's line for a bit. Try any mix of Garland, Hoglaner, Podkolzin, Boes on there.

To be fair, a new coach is of the highest priority IMO. You really need to see how someone else manages the players before you make any more changes. 4 years.......one fluky run and aside from that a .500ish team. It's baffling they extended him......but they did.

I never did like the Miller trade, but it did look good for a year. It's not against Miller the player, it was the timing. It gave a false sense of being closer than we were which has led to further troubles.

I said I'd reserve my judgement on the summer "blockbuster" with AZ until it played out a bit but thought it was more kicking the can down the road. The issue is, OEL and Garland have been fine. Huge price to pay for ridding yourself of 1 year of cap hell. Should have bent AZ over the barrel to get out of OEL's final years instead.

Has been JB's M.O. since he got here really. Thinking they're closer than they actually are. The timing has been all off. Linden must feel so vindicated right now lol

Need a new coach first. I think they have to trade JTM this TDL or offseason, no matter what – best way to maneuver the cap and get some assets back.

I just really hope management changes before JB does something rash to save this season.

That just really magnifies the need to have more insulation between the owner and the team.

All good when he's buying fans drinks down in California, not so good when he's directly involved in day to day decisions.

I would certainly want a moratorium on trades until at least around 10 games in to a new coach's tenure. Even then, you want another layer. I don't want Benning making moves to save his job, I feel he's already done that enough.

If fans saw their trades the way other fans saw their trades. No wonder JB has a job still.

I agree, the coach needs to go. He is terrible. The problem is, does another take a job where the GM is barely hanging on to his job and may want his guy as a coach?
Also, Bo is definitely not a guy I would want to trade, as he isan very good player and definitely under valued by many.
Those were just some examples for Nightie, of what could be done.

Viktor Persson started out strong in Kamloops with 7 points in his first 8 games. Scorelss in the last 6 games now though.

His D partner Mats Lindgren is draft eligible from BC.

exactly. which established coach will want to come into a place that has such internal instability.

if he has any sort of demand in the marketplace, that coach will wait for a better and more stable situation that will probably give him a longer contract.

finally, who hires the coach? the gm that most of us agree will be gone by the end of the season at the latest? or the bumbling owner.

no rush indeed. i've been reading they're going to be the best team in the nhl in the next 20 games so we should be talking extensions not firings.

you've filled out the next 20 games, you may as well finish the rest of the season. are they too far out to win the president's trophy?

Don't you dare bring that up
