I want you to think hard about this question: Does Sanheim elevate this team at $4.675 per? Does Provorov elevate this team at $6.75 per? What player on this roster currently elevates this team in your opinion? If you answer anyone other than Carter Hart your nutz! IMO, Risto elevates this team far more than any other defenseman they have, including Ryan Ellis right now because he unfortunately can't get on the ice. Risto elevates this team is a number of key ways: 1. Risto adds a strong physical presence this team has been lacking for several seasons, 2. Risto separates players from the puck better than most defenseman in the league and wins a majority of his puck battles below the goal line, 3. Risto is really solid defensively in his coverage and rarely turns the puck over, and 4. Risto can skate and you are seeing recently how he can impact the offense with his aggressiveness. IMO, its really no contest, Risto is the best defenseman on this team right now!
- jd250

Sanheim does not elevate the team. Neither does Provorov but he is the teams best defenseman and twice the player that Ristolainen is.

The physical play is nice but it is not what the team needed. It has not changed the Flyers ability to control the puck and to increase puck possession or to limit scoring chances. The facts back this up.
Ristolainen is inconsistent in puck battles. Sometimes he's good, sometimes mediocre.
Ristolainen has never been really solid defensively in his entire career, including now, He is again inconsistent and is frequently slow to react or caught flat footed.
He has been good with puck management.
He's at his best when he is aggressive offensively. Unfortunately that is also sporadic.
Overall he's played 5 good games out of 14. He should play at his best most games but he does not.
He is not worth what they gave up for him or what it will cost to re-sign him. He is not the right kind of player that the Flyers need to commit assets to for the future.

This is just more evidence of your fantasy viewpoint.

Almost everything you just posted here is wrong! Except ... how do you know I still have my 70s Farrah poster??

You are free to prove that I have posted that Ristolainen is one of the worst defenseman in the NHL. You can't.

Spot on! If you think about it, all the league really did was change replace calling it a tie and instead call it now an OT loss, there is no impact to the losing team. That and awarding an extra point to the winning team.

In the end, the league has got to get rid of the shootout, its a skills competition that belongs in the all star weekend; it has nothing to do with the team! Just make the 3 on 3 OT 10 minutes long and bring back ties. Clearly if you extend the OT to 10 minutes, there will be very few ties in this league.

- jd250

So the team who wins in OT or the shootout gets two points but there is no impact to the losing team? LOL. So not getting the second point doesn't impact the losing team in the standings?

The schedule is already too long and too condensed to extend the OT to 10 minutes.

Wait ... I never said this! Once again, I posted to eliminate the shootout, extend the OT to 10 minutes and award the team that wins an extra point. In the event no team scores in OT, the game is a tie and both teams walk away with 1 point. What is wrong with this idea?

You mean "over-your-head", see everyone, the office clown just can't understand and keep up, so this is what he resorts to. Come to think of it, I don't think you have ever once actually contributed to a conversation on this forum, hmmm, why is that? Oh, that's right, your an Office Clown, and therefore you have no ability to do that, just try to make everyone laugh instead. I see, well, you're not very good at that either clown!

Since the trade you have been posting consistently that Risto is one of the worst defenseman in the league analytically! There is no way, that I know of, to retrieve posts from 3 or 4 months ago because otherwise I would. But you know exactly what you have posted about Risto, from the time of the trade to the present day. So don't try and back out of anything now. You hate Risto, you are a Risto hater, part of the Cancel Risto Culture, and I, in the Star Wars tradition, am the resistance!

No I have not. I have never posted that Ristolainen is one of the worst defenseman in the league. Analytically or otherwise. I do know exactly what I've posted about the player. Not backing out of anything. You're delusional. With this and the immaturity shown with your post.

Honestly, your arguments are incredibly weak to the point that in the end when confronted, you can only respond with rhetoric.

This is just inappropriate ... comments like this about anyone should get you banned from this forum!

- jd250

To be fair, he's not making comments about you. He's making comments about your comments. Especially all the ones that are nauseating RISTO cock slurping.

On the other hand, you consistently resort to the "office clown" ad hominem directed at him (and also MJL now) on an ad nauseam basis, and that specifically should be more deserving of a ban, per the Code of Conduct.

Shocking how he gets away with the name-calling on a constant basis (which he resorts to when he can't make a persuasive counter-point to a critical comment), a clear violation of the CoC, without any repercussions, but has the gall to suggest that someone else should be banned for merely criticizing a comment of his (not in any way a violation of the CoC).

He is one of the most genial of all posters here, does not name call on a constant basis. He constantly talks hockey, unlike you, whose sole contribution to this forum is very occasional drop-ins, and cute displays of html redirects to music videos and memes.

When people argue, there will be the occasional insult hurled. If something as benign and banal as "office clown" gets your dander up, I suggest you retreat to the other parts of this site where you gush over long phallic objects blasting off in space accompanied by clouds of white foam.

And stay there.

Absolutely you may. I cannot guarantee I will pay it much more attention than your embarrassing displays of inability to grasp 4th grade arithmetic, but by all means, please do.

*smile*

Would you like to have a poll taken on who has been the single biggest contributor towards the thinning of knowledgeable posters from this site and its degradation over the past decade?

Asking for all.

Yes, let's take that poll. Someone has to thin the herd. Lets take a poll on who is more popular. Me or you?

Here is the biggest difference between you and I and why I would win that poll. I don't tell people where they should go and stay.

Hmm, are you sure you don't do it to feed your pathological and long standing need for endless meaningless argumentation where you forget what you said 2 mins ago?

Regrettably, I must deny you that pleasure. There is a nice game on, and while this is the pinnacle of your existence, it is the nadir of mine, so I must sadly bid you adieu.

But mope not. There will be a next time. And once you finally figure out what odds mean, you know they will say it won't be long before that next time come.

Till then!

Insults directed at a poster (rather than at the content of their comments) even on an occasional basis are still a violation of the CoC.

And I in fact have, and will continue, to "talk hockey" whenever I deem it necessary. I'm the only decider when it comes to where, when, and how often.

Unlike some others around here, I don't feel the need to constantly post to the forum (especially not to parrot discourse that others have already made) in a vain effort to prove—and always fail—how witty I may or may not be. But go ahead—you keep doing you.

It seems as though something benign and banal has gotten your dander up. Would following your own advice be appropriate?

I'm amused that someone such as yourself who claims such a high level of intelligence and superiority. Can't follow a simple conversation about whether a result is luck or not and that the conversation was not about odds. But we already know you can't.

I have been doing myself since I attained puberty. You see, I like to hold my own. Next time, I will try not to think about you thinking about it. I would tell you to be a man and suck it up, but I would not want to put ideas in your head.

I am also glad you decide the nature of your participation here. I was so worried it was due to some astral alignment.

On a more direct note, when a poster not really noted for his hockey contributions to the forum, to put it mildly, uses one of his sweet sashays in here to invoke rules and COC in a spat not having anything to do with him re: another mild mannered poster who constantly talks hockey, he should not be surprised when someone calls him out for it.And he doesn't get to decide when that calling out occurs.

No hard feelings. I said my piece. Nice to see you again.
