Hmmm....

Oh I understood.

Some suggested variations for the same effect:

"I know what I know but you don't know that I know what you don't know."

"I know what I know but you don't know what you don't know."

"We both know you don't know what I know"

...

Not really.

I am not sure what this means. Your dog speaks to you when you take him out?

Here in the US we don't really say 'dog going out for potties.' Don't blow your cover, buddy.

And thanks

Yes. Just because he can't talk like a human doesn't mean he's non-communicative. Just like you said you spoke your "piece," even though you actually wrote it down. He also speaks his "peace" as well, using the appropriate canine methods of communication.

Yeah, in fact we do. Just because you might not, it doesn't make it not the norm. So there's no cover being blown...

"Said my piece" is pretty standard slang. But anyway, re: your canine', thanks for, well, clearing that up.

"taking dog out for potties": ha ha, it is quite unusual and noticed, esp the plural form, unless you mean in the vacuous 'anyone can say anything' kinda way.

I remain gently unconvinced about the fact that there is no cover. Call it, if you like, an accumulation of mild oddities spotted in your participation here (while the oddities are mild, the accumulation is large), and also the knowledge that there is someone out there in this world with an uncanny similarity to you: about same age, also former programmer, also interested in outer space, also married with kid/s, and especially, also something else even more strikingly singular, which I will not mention here.

Except that dude spends much of his time near Spain.

I have long mildly wondered, for two years almost now. But the emphasis is on mild, not wondered, and it's none of my business, and I don't believe in doxxing.

So, as someone said, you do you, but just don't screw your pooch.

DUH! You "Say your PEACE." As in "PEACE of Mind" (re-referenced from Page 1). And you still failed to get it after all the hints.

It's not unusual. The plural is used exactly for that purpose. If I were to have taken him out only once, it would be "potty." Since I have taken him out and will continue to take him out multiple times, the plural is to be used. Stop over-thinking it, and stop telling us how we're supposed to think. It's our life to live, not yours.

TLDR... But again, you're overthinking.

You see, when the others here tell you you're too smart for your own good, they're not particularly trying to put you down. They're trying to help you. It's a shame that you don't ever get it.

But there it is. I've said my peace piece.

I know one thing: If I were a character in the Godfather series, I'd stay away from all oranges. Any citrus, for that matter.

(frank) it. I'd avoid all fruits.

No, it's say your [url]piece. its not unusual at all. Quite common. Nobody says "I am gonna take my dog out for potties." Potty here usually means porta-potty/chamberpot etc.

And while we are on the subject, guys who talk about Prince Phillip and esoteric British shows from the 1970s, who are clearly educated and smart, don't say things like: "I don't know if I am gonna pay fifty large for something like that."

When they come talk on a hockey board, and pretend to be a long standing fan, they don't constrain their opinion to stuff like "we seem to have more trouble getting the puck out of our zone than most teams." That's too generic.

Dude, I got nothing against you. I think this thing you got going here is kinda interesting. I quite like you, actually. You are often funny. I do sometimes wonder why its worth your while, you calling yourself a tycoon and all, but thats not something I stay awake thinking about.

And thanks for the advice. I do tend to show off. Funny you don't know that I know what you think I don't know.

I'm well aware of the correct idiom versus the eggcorn. Again, as opposed to the reference to the 1st page here, which went right over your head all this time. So you're not out-smarting me by telling me something that I don't already know.

We grew up in the era of the Irwin, Pennsylvania-made "Scotty With No Potty" (with their famous Scottish Terrier logo):

Since most, even the larger versions, came with no water systems to support a bathroom and a wet-kitchen (a lot of travel trailers were like that back in the day), you either did your thing in the woods, or if your were lucky enough for your parents to splurge for a stay at the , at the communal restrooms (although most state and NPS campgrounds did have facilities like outhouses/porta-potties... but just the basic place to TCOB, and no washing-up when done). Although we did have a portable camping toilet akin to a chamber pot. But I don't think we ever used it, as it needed to be manually cleaned out after each use. Not to mention that you had to be comfortable doing your business in front of everyone else unless they vacated the camper. So it was strictly for a sudden emergency situation...

I don't think many American-made campers and travel-trailers like Serro Scotty's, Airstreams, Winnebago's, Coleman's, etc. were ever exported across the pond to Old Blighty, since they had their own manufacturers to build campers that were more suitable to their road systems and campgrounds.

Anyways, we and all our fellow community of campers always said our dogs "went potties." It's a shame that I reckon you must have been deprived of the camper life. What a great way to see our continent and all of its natural wonders and folks from different walks of life that we learned to tolerate because they grew-up with different experiences than ours.

And while we are on the subject, guys who talk about Prince Phillip and esoteric British shows from the 1970s, who are clearly educated and smart, don't say things like: "I don't know if I am gonna pay fifty large for something like that."

1. Now you are. Then you weren't. If you don't know what you now know, go back and read your previous 2 posts.
2. Cut the crap, man. Jesus.
3. Quoting you, and omitting 20 other contradictory asides and comments you have made.

Here is the issue, dude. I am not going to out you, or the guy whose identity you have usurped, or whatever weirdo game I think you are playing here, irrespective whatever. Not if you piss me off. Not if anyone asks me. Not if we get together and have mad sex. For everyone else here, they will find it entertaining and puzzling and will...move on.

So rest easy, and just remove the phone numbers of your wife and daughter from your webpage. For the next guy may follow the trail of droppings you have left behind and be less charitably inclined.

All I ask is this, and this is a request and I am speaking ONLY for myself: you are good at what you do. But can you not at least aim for a 50% share of your posts be devoted to hockey outside the Misc forums? Everyone talks about this and that occasionally, but no one I have come across crosses that very generous threshold in the 13 years I have spent here. Indeed, no one crosses even 80%. I mean, this ain't Instagram, you know? I mean, even your hockey posts are links to videos and twitter and whatever. Don't you have an opinion you want to get on the mat with and defend?

Since you are fond of invoking COC for guys who are not actually anywhere repeat offenders of the sort you think they are, take some time and familiarize yourself with #2.

That's too bad. I'd like to see you try. And fail, since this supposed alter-identity is all news to me. I'm getting a good laugh out of all the poor mind-(frank)ed souls here who think this isn't my first and only account. Since there is no way to prove one way or the other, that's all I can do.

Who says it isn't? I'm not going answer in the affirmative or not because I have no intention of ever keeping tabs. I'll leave that to you.

It takes the contributions of others to take topics off course. I'm only replying to those who took things off-topic here. I don't have the responsibility to steer things back to hockey talk when that happens, which is not a violation of the CoC.

And if you haven't noticed, I only mentioned the CoC (#6) violation to point-out the hypocrisy of that other user crying that TBH should be banned for merely criticizing their comment rather than resorting to ad hominem attacks like he has (and others have) done (particularly when the CoC author goes out of their way to end that rule with: "It is not against the rules for someone to disagree with you."). Other than that, I don't care who does or doesn't get banned. I'm not a mod and it's not my job to enforce the rules. Since I've always followed them, I have not been banned and don't ever plan to get banned.

I've told you before that I'm the decider of when, where, what, and how often I post, and I'm not going to let you keep bullying me into doing otherwise. So I suggest you leave it at that, and worry only about yourself—knowing that it's not me that gives one iota about any of your posting habits except for your persistent inability to do just that.

1. You wouldn't and I wouldn't. And I never said anything about taking on another posters identity. That would be still weird but more boring.
2. I don't keep tabs on you or anyone. I sadly possess a mind like sticky tape, and stuff accumulates, whether I want it to or not. I do take an interest in the lives behind the avatars, and to that extent, I have noticed stuff, but I have about others too.
3. I honestly don't know why you feel bullied. Bullying is only possible if there is power over someone, and your own words, highlighted, and my assurances earlier prove that I have no such power.

And sure, I will accept your suggestion, even if you will apparently not accept mine.

Now chill.
