So I was all over watching and reading about picks that draft once we won the 2nd pick. I watched and read Canadian media ad nauseam. Bob McKenzie Elliott Friedman etc who are reliable sources connected to hockey scouts and gms etc.

None of these guys were saying anything but hischier or Patrick 1 or 2 and in fact up until the very end where hischiers stock rose Patrick was the consensus number 1 on most boards.

No one was saying take makar or heiskanen over these cats. Just wasn’t the talk even if it looks better now.

We do have to wait and see if Hayes and Ellis can get back and playing well. I do believe that this team can play much better than it has. I'm just talking about the early returns. Right now, I think what I feared happening is happening. Which is the classic over correction to one really bad season with extenuating circumstances.

With harts improvement i think with Ellis and haze healthy. Maybe include Allison then we have a solid chance to make the playoffs and let’s see how it goes. You have to be very cautious though. Say you get in and win a round or two. You may say. We’re right there but it may be a lightning in a bottle scenario. Don’t go all in next year.

Look at Montreal. Many passionate fans and perhaps the org felt omg. We’re right there as we made it to the final. Let’s just tweak and we’re gold. We can afford to lose danault perry etc.

Wow up from the dream and what do you have? Weber toast. Price out. Their season is shot already. I think they need to pretend last year didn’t happen as the covid divisions were skewed etc. I think they should still fire bergevin, try to find a taker for price and take a full rebuild approach. Not popular but the right move. Translation don’t overreact.

Hextall did a very good job and he should've never been fired in my opinion. The jury is not back yet but right now, giving Fletcher the GM and President of hockey operations looks like the mistake. He has the Flyers in the worst position a team could be in right now.

You are wrong, and our results prove it. Hextall did a horrible job, and thats not even taking into account the power trip he was on with the inside staff, and not treating past players very well.

Would say horrible but average. It was all the hype they sold for the prospects. Really his first couple drafts weren’t bad. Then he outsmarted himself with some of his picks.

What you always have to do is have a fixed and forward outlook. The measuring stick is always the better teams and the style of play and type of players that make you one of the better teams. The league is a skating, puck possession attacking league backed by solid team defense and goaltending. Last year the Flyers were a non competitive team that got pushed around. They focused on that and based their moves off of that. They failed to address transition play. Sometimes when you make a trade, you add one element to your team but you created a hole elsewhere. That's okay if you can correct for that internally. That's what happened with the Voracek trade. They added a shooter and a better player away from the puck but they didn't replace the transition play and playmaking.

Preferably a coffee one.

Dave Scott is a clown. Fletcher is an NHL lifer who hasn't done squat. The coaching staff is archaic and just not good.

Fn Lappy running the farm. Who do they have in this organization (with say) that you can say I really like the job they are doing and the future looks good.

The don't even have any up and coming hotshots in terms of a GM or coaching. Do you ever hear of any member of the flyers organization being interviewed for other jobs with other teams?

Completely agree. I was watching the avs last night. Makar is amazing. You can get decent forwards a lot of the time but my god stud dmen like that in a draft is gold.

Can you explain why he’s now working for pitt as a gm? Certainly not perfect but saying he was horrible is like saying he’s on par with milbury.

If things go off the rails this year I expect you’ll get your wish with the coaching staff but prob not yet with fletch and Scott.

Bad GM's and coaches continually get hired. Ole boys club. Saint Ronnie was an average andy GM.

Team is arguably no better than when he took over x amount of years ago.

Whatever Ronnies job was he didn’t do it well. He was average. It’s sad that this team has been totally irrelevant for close to a decade
