Hextall's biggest, hugest, most hurtful blunder was not listening to his scouts but instead drafting Nolan Patrick when you had Cale Makar or Miro Heiskanen sitting there, two top pairing defenseman that could have paired with Provorov and been the best pairing in the league! Think about it, if Hextall drafts Miro or Makar, there is not need for Yandle, no need to make a trade for Ellis, maybe even no need to make a trade for Risto. This one blunder pushed this franchise back a decade! - jd250
You are factually incorrect. There was no consensus on the pick. Some scouts wanted Patrick, some Makar, some Heiskanen. This is documented.

He did it well? What do we have to show for his efforts? Middling talent and a good goalie. Provys draft was stacked , I’ll give him the TK and Sanheim picks. Ton of misses. No center depth at all. The jvr signing... - ClaudeFather
They are 2 solid pieces at best. That is it. No great shakes.

A couple years back Santa Anita racetrack had an epidemic of fatalities.
They looked at all of the factors of the dirt composition etc made some fixes seems horses are not dying in droves.
We here in Flyerdom seem to have groin/hernia/abdominal year in year out.
Is it possible the makeup or our ice is too soft or hard?
I know Hayes injured himself in game 1 back.
My guess is a 3rd surgery is in the card for Hayes.
On the plus side Frost seems to be finding his legs in the A. |

It is now documented you are blind and love Saint Ronnie. He did a very good job. Phuck even Stevie Wonder can see that is false.

There isn't tons of misses. In 5 drafts, he drafted two top 6 defenseman including a top pairing defenseman. Two top 6 level forwards and a potential franchise goaltender that right now is keeping the team afloat. His draft included 4 other NHL players with the potential for 3 more at this point.

HAHAHAHA, it was documented ages ago. Thats why he poo poos every single move fletch makes, hes upset fletch took over for his sweetie.
Im giving fletch another year before my critiques. He was left with not much in the cupboard to work with. At least he got rid of players that have no future on the team and is trying to see if ellis and RR can make it work. Cam was a good deal though.

he was average. we were a cap team almost every year except for one under hex. one year picks were traded and you make it seem like we are doomed for forever now. used that cap space he had to sign jvr...right back to no space.....why? And to say he say he didn't get to finish his plan...ridiculous. every gm fired could claim the same. he had plenty of time....we are in the same position as 7 years ago.
his plan from him was to retool while staying competitive. for that he failed. a few years ago we were said to have one of the deepest prospect pools. well when they don't pan out where are we.....yes what you're selling is hyperbole. |

Lets put it in context. He had 8 first rounds picks in those 5years. How many of those are good players?
Not to mention having to move up to take TK and moved up top of the 2nd round to take Ratcliffe

I agree. Fans are dopes and need to wise up. Only way real change comes is when the $$ stops flowing into the pockets.
They are a business. As long as it makes money they will not change. They laugh their asses off really. - hello it's me 2050
Exactly.
Would you blame a business for making money? I don't understand this Dave Scott hate. He acted like a corporate stooge. HULLO PEOPLE! that is exactly what his role is, and even what his aim is!
Sometime back, you were busting my balls for saying there are no woke organizations, just businesses making money. Its true. The reason Comcast is woke (or whatever you want to cal it) is because they make money that way in today's world.
For the 1980s, businesses did not want to support gay rights. In 1988, a plurality of Americans agreed with the statement: AIDS is a punishment from God for being gay. Then things changed, gay rights became more accepted, and companies found they were losing talented people by not extending partner benefits to others who were.
Bingo: they quietly started non-discriminatory policies, long before it became law. They did not become 'woke'. They followed the money. |

The jury is still out on Farabee. Last season was not real. Same as I didn’t count it for Hart. |

Right now all he has to show for it are Ivan Sanheim Hart Joel and TK. That is it. The rest is just white noise at this point.
5 players. What a very good job he has done. Get the phuck out of here.
edit: 5 players |

Fletch is not a good GM. Another in the long line of average andy at best. Disagree he was left with a good stock. Some who still had value across the league because of their hype.
I do not have faith in the GM to turn this team around into a contendera t all.

I actually think we should use a 3rd maybe a 3rd and 4th rounder to move up in the draft every year. If you can move from 18 to 11 its well worth it in my books. Look at some of the guys that went right before TK

Im not married to him but willing to let him try. At least he realized you cant keep the same players and expect different results. That was refreshing to hear. At least his line of thinking was correct. Changes needed to be made.
Frost will be up here very soon, and then at least we will know what we got with him.
Zamula prob will be up by Feb. I wouldnt mind bringing him up now over seeler.

I have zero problem him moving out ghost and bobby abreau. Though with Ghost they are seeing what he can do when coached properly.
Though he did not focus on the offense at all. Cliff Claven is right in that regard. He ignored it completely.

I always wonder when a GM makes a player for player trade why don't they insist on say a 7th rounder coming back? Will the other GM nix the deal over that 7th? doubtful. Many I doubt value a 7th rd pick. Try to accumulate as many lottery tickets as possible. Maybe they do who knows. It is a strategy I would try to employ.
