6 games left in November…
Very easily a slump will have somebody fired. 🤞 |

You'd hope so, but if people haven't been fired so far, what makes this slump different from any others? |

It was funny but sad to hear the radio guys say the Canucks should just try get a 1st or 2nd overall pick. |

Their fortunes and their draft picks started to turn around in 2013 when they selected Nurse at 7th overall and then Draisaitl at 3rd overall, then of course McDavid at 1st overall. Followed by Puljujarvi, Yamamoto, Bouchard and Broberg...they've pretty much hit on every first round pick they've had since 2013.
Can't believe the production out of Draisaitl, the guy has 35 points in 17 games so far. He's been absolutely amazing!! I watched the Oilers game against the Hawks the other night, McDavid and Draisaitl were playing on different lines at even strength and then were lethal on the PP together. They look really good this year!! |

Nuckers an absolute idiot or he's putting on one of the biggest troll scams in HB history....not sure which one it is? The current version of the Canucks are one of the worst ran organizations in all of sports, not just the NHL.
Eight years into Benning's tenure the organization is still at the bottom of the league, they have empty prospect cupboards and they've traded away their last two first round picks to yet again finish near the bottom of the league....yet they sit there and preach patience
When this was happening in Edmonton everyone and their brother was laughing at them...now it's us and all we hear internally is excuses from guys like Nucker and why the organization should keep Benning on. Like keeping Kevin Lowe on when he drove that franchise into the ground. |

I do think there's some talent on the team and a coaching change to someone who teaches a better defensive style of game would make a HUGE difference. But they really seem to preach patience over any type of change. Travis Green won't even change his tactics on the ice, he's continually rolling with his same BS expecting it to work at some point.
Look what hard-ass Darryl Sutter's done in Calgary, a simple philosophy change has them at the top of the league with virtually the same lineup. |

Ya, change out Green/assistants ASAP and bring in a solid vet coach. Fire Benning. Hire a firm to conduct a new GM search. Let this team play out the year and make needed changes in the off-season under a new regime (a few TDL options as well).
I don't think they need a scorched earth rebuild. There's a solid amount to build around here. And like you said, a coach can make a huge difference. |

For Edmonton, it was never the offense that was the problem, it was their defense and goaltending that always held them back. For us it's the fact that our so-called "stars" aren't stars at all, our defense is stuck trying to chase the puck in our own zone because the forwards like to goal suck waiting at the opponent's blueline for a breakaway pass and don't support the puck. Our goaltending is elite with Demko though, so that's a start, it's something to build on at least. |
