The only way to fix this mess is to blow it up, starting at the top and picking through the mess.

Fun game
- VANTEL

I just turned it on like 2 minutes ago.

I was watching Clb vs Buf. I really don't feel bad about the Canucks losing games like last night after watching some other teams play because that was horrible hockey between both teams.

I enjoyed last nights game. The third period was not great but the first two were okay.

Good info thx.
So what do you choose

Resign Miller & trade Boeser?
Or something else?

- Nighthawk

Unfortunately, those two things kinda happen at the same time. I suggested trading Boeser, but not because he has a terrible shot, or because he’s slow or whatever. I suggested it because I think Höglander can do his job reasonably well, for much less $, freeing up money to pay better D, and hopefully getting a D in return. If you did this though, signing Miller would be a priority, or trading him for younger player with high potential because if you trade Boeser and still lose Miller for nothing you’re (frank)ed.

Something has to give on the roster. Idk if Miller is lost for nothing though. I’m not against Boeser but he has become a luxury as you’ve stated.

Remember when Trevor Linden got Red Wedding’d? Funny coincidence, there were 8 seasons of Game of Thrones, the 8th was the worst, then it was over.

This is Benning’s 8th year and his worst, is it nearly over? #canucks

I don't want to make a big thing about it but I see some similarities in Vancouver to Colorado. Before they were good they were bad.

They had problems with the GM and players and multiple top 10 picks including a number one . People forget Makar and Byram were picked at #4 . They traded ROR and Duchene . They did what they had to do.

Canucks are hitting rock bottom and they need changes.

For the record I did not say Benning is like Burnaby Joe , but team hardships are similar and we are at the point to make big decisions.

One of the most important things a leader can do is recognize their mistakes and move forward. Unfortunately Benning is an excuse factory, has yet to actually take responsibility. Yes yes, he said at the end of last year that it’s his responsibility, but he never owned what the mistakes were, and then he went out and made them again.

Does he ever say anything pertinent?
He talks about prospects & the rest is Jimbo jumble. No ballz to read the riot act.

Good. The new regime need a prime trade chip to start a new retool on the fly. Hopefully, someone is in place well before the TDL.
- Marwood

I love that we're talking about a re-tool already haha. Re-tooling off 8 years of futility.

No issue with your comment, just the sigh of being a canucks fan.

It's year 52 of the 100 year plan to eventually build a contender that will ultimately wreck our hopes in Game 7 of the SCF, losing in 7OT 2-1 to the Leafs who after over 100 years of never winning the Cup, finally gets it done... The City of Vancouver and the Lower Mainland end up burning for 7 days and 7 nights, before the Flood drowns the ashes and the 10.0 earthquake buries what's left.

Who is really running the team?

When I hear things like the owner has given him permission to make trades, makes you wonder.

Saw that a rumor was JTM for Fiala and a 2nd. Also saw Boston might be shopping DeBrusk for a pick (3rd?).

Fiala Bo Hog
Pod EP Garland
DeBrusk Dikky Pearson
4th liners

OEL Myers
Hughes X
Rathbone/Schenn/Hunt Poolman

Trade Boeser for a top young RHD +

From SBNation but not enough to get a more versatile Miller & not in the dog house like Fiala gets into. Needs a sweetener or different package imo.

Fiala is younger, in line with Bo and Garland, which is better long term for the Canucks. I'd hope they could add a mid pick with JTM to get Minny's 1st... but Fiala is also a highly skilled player, not like he's a massive step down from JTM.

With the right GM maybe the could squeeze them for more and with the right coach they could get more out of Fiala. I just don't think Minny gives up 2 roster players for 1 if they're pushing for the playoffs.
