#NYR practice lines look like this:
Panarin - Strome - Kakko
Kreider - Zib - Hunt
Laf - Chytil - Gauthier
Goodrow - Rooney - Reaves
(I'm just going to start calling the 🥖 line what it is -- the top line)
this RW dilemma is really depressing |

I think the way Gauthier has been playing lately has lessened the depression

It's laboratory and experimentation mode. Start with Laf. Try Goodrow. Try Blais. Try Hunt. Try Gauthier. Go back to Laf,. Make trade if/.when needed. |

Remember the off season when we had that sewn up and our concern was at center?
That hasn't changed either. |

we are probably going to give up more than we got back for Buchnevich to replace him
its just something we are going to have to accept
but, they also shouldn't be thinking "we made a bad trade with Buchnevich so we shouldn't do anything ever again" either
that's it
they goofed but this team is pretty good, it deserves some help regardless

it depends on the cap hit past this year for whatever we end up replacing Buch with. If it's lower and the player produces well enough then it's fine. |

I think it's only a goof now cause injury right? If it were a healthy Blais, I'd still make that trade today.

I don't think they goofed.
I would rather have Blais at $1.5 mill than Buch at $5.8 mill.
It sucks that Blais got hurt, but the only problem I had with that trade was the fact we only got a 2nd round pick. If that was a first round pick, I wouldn't complain... |

Blais provided us an element we were missing too. Was almost like having Fast up there, with a bit more offensive upside. I still wouldn't rank him as good as him, but we haven't had a player like Blais since Hags.
Would you guys want us to try to get Blackwell back? He can't cost that much to get back in a trade. He's played all of 4 games this year, can't see the Kraken really wanting to hold on to him either.

I dont really see Blackwell as an upgrade over what's here
they should use the 9 million in space they have for 2021-22 somehow
they got one shot left with Fox only making 925K a year

If you really want an interesting target that I don't think we have mentioned on this board: Alexander Radulov. Hasn't played a ton of games the past couple seasons, impending UFA, and probably wouldn't cost much in a trade. Maybe selling him on playing with a fellow ruskie (well a couple) could swing him over here.
I think it's a low risk move, and given his age will likely take a pretty good haircut on his next contract. If you don't want to resign him, that's cool too.
