Hahah “has.” I think part of it is we’re just not having an exciting season. - Rinosaur
Its been about what most of us expected. We'll probably be fighting for a wild card spot/last spot in the division. |

Same. There is always a little hope that somehow they can pull off something crazy, but it's pretty much career appreciation time. |

Personally, its been exciting for me...or perhaps entertaining is the better word. Either way, most of the games so far have been good battles. - MattStrat
A lot of us are just spending less time here. Barely see Vic anymore. And of course nobody new ever comes here so that slows it down. Still enjoy talking with everyone here, it's just not an all day thing anymore. |

Which I believe at least to a degree is because of the three factors I listed...but there's also they're not as young and good as the used to be, so some fair weather fanning a factor as well. Its also only November and we've had a lot of highs and important games with this team in recent history. If it was playoff time, and they were in it, it'd be much busier here as well, another factor. |
|
|
|
Had? so it's not anymore? jk...
I believe the factors to be crappy comments (at times I've been caught up in this), some crappy blog subjects or titles and the website itself performing very badly the past little while. A lot of times I try to come here the site doesn't even work. - MattStrat
I say partially because this crappy site never works now. And secondly the affect of Hexy taking over for JR. |

Yeah, good call. Another possible factor. O'le gunslinger Jim was giving us things to talk about on average every month or two hahah

Agree I don't feel some big shake up coming. The top half of the roster is pretty set for better or worse. They might add a depth piece or two but that's about it. I'd guess the shopping list is third line forward with size, upgrade 3rd pair D, and back-up goalie in some order. Nothing sexy. Nothing to argue all day over either.
Also it's been hard to get a read on the team with how bad the health has been. Now that everyone but Malkin is back, looks similar to the last couple years. Good enough regular season team to make the playoffs, but nothing screaming Cup contender.
Like others said, just going to enjoy Sid, Geno, and Letang while we have them. |

I don't know...everyone saying the aren't going to the finals have an incredibly great chance of being right, I would never deny that, but I still believe in this team. From what Ive seen almost every night this season, except maybe 2 games, they've been really good, just not burying goals...they've played way more great periods than not so far...and this with such a depleted roster and players coming back not to their regular energy levels because of what they caught. Last season why did they lose in the first round? They were the better team, on the ice skater and play side, but lost because of goaltending to the team that ended up 2 wins from the final. |

For anyone wondering why Carter is playing above ERod its quite simple, its the same reason he is taking faceoffs on the PP... He is 55.5% on FO where ERod is a respectable 50.5. Apparently that extra 5% is important enough for the coaches |

Carter is a much better player. He just needs a few less minutes or he will be wore out. The Olympic break could be good for a few players. |

Just like last year, I still believe in the overall talent. I do not have faith they'll stay healthy unfortunately. That never seems to happen. If they can stay healthy, I think they can make a run.
I do not have faith in the tending....although Jarry is playing great. |

I don't have much faith in those things either. For the Pens to get back to finals a lot would have to go right... But that's my point, it's still possible especially with how the team has played a lot of nights the past 1.25 seasons, and when it's still possible I'll always have a bit of faith and belief until they're out of the picture. I liked that roster last playoffs better than the one that went into 2017's and it played much better as a team than 2017's. |

I hope so. The PP needs to at least be average for the Pens do have any success.
