I said when they were hired that Fletcher is the poster boy for nepotism and mediocrity and that AV was an overrated hack who made his bones on the back of great goaltending.

Believe me yet?

I've always been a Vigneault fan. I wanted the Flyers to hire him. I'm starting to change my mind. I gave a benefit of the doubt last season due to the circumstances and the lack of practice time. However it seems like more of the same this year. The coaching staff shows no signs of being able to adapt or make changes to push the right buttons. He waited far too long to make line changes. You have to help players stay out of ruts before they get too deep. I watch the Lightning play and I see their structure. In every aspect of the game. I don't see it with the Flyers. No consistency. It's not all coaching. It's a combination of injuries, wrong mix of players and coaching.

Every single playoff team will pay a good price to acquire Giroux if they can if he is made available at the trade deadline. The only question is the cap. Giroux is a player that while he no longer can carry a team, he will elevate any team he goes to. He is still a really good player.
- MJL

I think Grioux has been their best player by far this year, and I personally do not want to see him traded unless discussions take place where he has no desire to return at a reasonable number. JVR, LIndblom, have been flat out terrible as their 10M cap space accounts for 2 goals. I also thought Laughton would be a little more consistent. Macewen hustles every shift and has played much more inspired hockey than JVR and Lindblom, move him up and give him a chance. Won't solve all issues, but messages have to be sent.

Av Took two teams to the Stanley cup finals and is a Jack adams award winner.

Do not bad mouth him

cf is made all the right moves this off season and is poised for big things

(You were not alone in your assessment of the gm and coaching hires)

the issue with going into a rebuild now. We can see some of our young players, it can take 4 years before they are nhl ready....So we could be in for a long wait

But its something that should be done, and should've started when trading Schenn.
Id keep Joel and Hart, the rebuild starts with them. The rest are open to the highest bidder

JVR and Lindblom overall have not been flat out terrible. They certainly haven't finished. Both player for long stretches were carrying play and generating a high level of scoring chances. I understand that ultimately, that's not good enough and goals are goals. The issue is that frustration has caught up with Lindblom and his game has degraded. The coaching staff waited way too long to change up the mix.

I fully agree. And I think he would be crazy to not waive his NTC.

Our own little Mats Sundin saga in the making. Hope Chuck handles it better than Cliff did.

I think if Ellis and Hayes are fully healthy the team would be playing better. How much better? I do not know.

That said, TBL beat the Flyers handily last night without Kucherov and Point. TBL still has the best goalie in the world, one of the best d-men and Stamkos playing. The Flyers stopped playing in the last 40 minutes. It will be more of the same tonight and Friday if they don't change there compete level.

you cant force a player to waive the NTC, that was the issue in Toronto. The fans /media expected him to waive, and he didn't want to.

Haven’t won two straight games since October 27-28.

Last 12 games shutout 3 times, 20 goals scored over those 12 games. 1.6 per game. Absolute incompetence. By all means don’t make any changes, just keep repeating what you are doing.

Maybe, but they need to have a level of compete regardless of who is hurt. If they competed hard and lost last night, people wouldn't be complaining..... as much.
We are tired of the lack of compete more than anything. Totally goes against anything the flyers stood for and its been this way for a decade.

When your season seemingly hinges on a guy who's topped 50-points once in 7-seasons and another guy who can't stay healthy to save his life...

The roster and coaching is absolute garbage. Look at these other teams like the lightning penguins and Caps playing with injuries, they are still putting a quality effort and have some sort of system they stick to that gives them a chance to win hockey games. Whatever this game plan is the coaches have does not work in today’s NHL. The coaches need to be removed immediately if there is any chance of saving this season

Don't worry. Fletcher changed the culture of the team this past off season. That is going to kick in any minute now. Last night's lack of compete was just a bump in the road. The lack of goal scoring and poor PP is just a little mini offensive slump.

When this team gets down 2 goals, it is almost to the point where you have to turn it off. IMO Giroux has been the ONLY consistent player this year. Couturier seems to be off, Farabee seems lost, TK has been inconsistent. Provorov cant find his offensive game. I almost forgot, Yandle is terrible

Exactly, like i said earlier, the coaches can stay in florida. We don't need them coming back.

Please stop with the narrative that the team is tired since they have played three games in four nights -- Tampa just whitewashed the Flyers, outplayed them in every instance -- watching the game, you would have thought that the Flyers were affected by a covid outbreak and playing their eighth game in 7 days.

I understand that you are employed by the team and have to push a certain narrative, like those at CSN Philly, but you are doing yourself and your readers a disservice.

- corduroy

Outplayed them without two of their best players to boot. Aren't the Flyers also missing two of their best players?

I noticed when the camera panned on AV in the third period last night he was just standing behind the bench chewing his gum. Seemed like a total disconnect with the players. Looked like dead man walking. I was a big proponent of his hiring, but I don't think this is gonna end well. The issue I have is how many coaches will Giroux have gone through? Coach killer!!
