Nothing strawman here ... I am unloading facts on you, both barrels on point! If you want to blame someone for the current state of this team ... start with HEXTALL!! But hey, no worries, he is in Pittsburgh, let's see where they will be in about 5 years
- jd250

theres enough blame to go around to the past GM, current GM and coaching staff. Dont worry.
And the players should be ashamed getting a paycheck while there is a total lack of effort. We need NFL contracts here.

All this talk about Captain comfortable being moved is funny. He should have wanted out of this schitt show years ago. Yet he stayed. Maybe I guess some of you think the light goes on and he wants to be traded. It is possible I guess. I hope he stays put as more entertainment in that.

If he does decide to move he will call his destination. He would be a huge pickup for any team. Flyers can get very good value back in theory. with chuck at the help who knows.

Tired of hearing about the injury to hayes and ellis. Many teams have injuries. Just another excuse the flyers make.

Yandle is complete toast. How many more games until the record? Cant even get mad at Seeler as this isn't his fault. He just isn't an everyday NHL dman,

Laughton (at the deadline) and ex selke (summer) should have been moved. This is a rudderless organization with no clear plan to contend.

You don't even know what a strawman is. "no worries, he is in Pittsburgh, let's see where they will be in about 5 years ". That's a strawman!

You aren't unloading facts. Your facts are wrong.

It's time for you to admit to the reality of what you've been posting all along. No it's not an overreaction that they gave complete control to a guy who has never built anything in the NHL.

Love to see G get moved for someone that was drafted a year or two ago, so we don't have another Jay Obrien situation, drafting and waiting and waiting and might not materialize into a good player anyway.

Someone will want Laughton too, he would be effective on a lot of teams, and he can move around the lineup which is a big selling feature.

That would be the absolute worst thing they could do.

What would be cap implications?

The question is do you trust the GM to get a nice return if CC decides he wants to be moved? With 50% retention a 1st very good prospect/young nhl player and possible cap dump should be a possible return easy imo.

Disagree with Laughton. Long term deal at 3 million per. Don't see any real return coming the flyers way if they can even move him. There will likely be better options.

I do, i think he did great on the ellis and jake trades, RR a little over payment. Ghost, i was completely shocked that no one wanted him....on pace for 18 goals last year. over a full season...How many D can score 18?

Completely delusional to think Giroux gets traded. So the GM maxed out the credit card only to sell at the trade deadline? If that's what you think you haven't been paying attention.

I myself do not. I do not think any of the trades he made were any stroke of him being a genius. IMO the other teams made the ellis and jake deals happen. I don't mind either one. Just not the direction I would have went.

No issue with Ghost moving on. Just does validate it a little that this coaching staff didnt like him and def didn't use him properly.

I agree unless they are just completely out of it come the deadline. Which I hope ends up being the case.

If G doesnt waive his NTC and they want him to, he won't be back here next year. And that's ok in my book. Was never a G critic, but i'm done with him. The lack of effort this team gives is astounding.

The bar for the organization to do any type of selling is mathematical elimination. The likelihood of this is extremely low.

I don't htink the GM has the bolos to even ask him to waive. Hopefully the 4 year 6 million per ext is signed shortly lol

I do not disagree in any way. Just dumb line of thinking is all on their part.

It's way too early to be pulling any plugs. Lot of season left, stranger things have happened, yada yada yada.

But... we know this is a team with some fundamental flaws. The issues with own-zone coverage last season, their lack of goal scoring, the PP, etc... they are all symptomatic of not having the puck enough, not taking care of the puck, not playing with enough structure and support.

Throw more talent at this thing, more shooters, more defenders, and it's not gonna fix a damned thing until they get on the right/same page.

My issue is not losing, its the lack of compete. Sure they will compete for a game or two then this will happen again, we've seen this for probably 8 years now. Last year we used the excuse of covid, no practice time, blah blah blah.....whats the excuse now to not try hard??

OK, keep the coaching staff in Florida, and if this team still has compete issues with a new coaching staff, full cleaning of the house.

There is blame to go around from top to bottom of the flyers. From the janitorial staff of the phantoms all the way to the flyers CEO.
When you can’t draft top ten for years on end you need top notch scouting that can recognize high end talent with room to grow and flourish in the NHL
Drafting for NHL talent is great but if your getting 3rd and 4th line guys out of your higher picks if they even do make the NHL your going to have to trade or go FA for talent.
Just as important if not more important is prospect development.
IMO the flyers have been doing a poor job of developing players.
When was the last time a flyers prospect came up to the flyers and made an impact.
Really Hart and Farabee are it from recent history.
Farabee is either playing with something or he’s lost in the woods on this poop show of a team.
Even Provorov IMO has regressed from when he first came in the league.
Sanheim is another player I don’t think they are handling right.
The phantoms are a tire fire. Sure they have a lot of injuries but they are also giving up a lot of goals.
Zamula and York don’t appear to be lighting things up In Lehigh.
Frost is settling in it appears and getting on the score sheet.
Last I have to wonder if the flyers training staff pushes core body training.
How many flyers have we seen with abdominal injuries over the years?
I hated that the assistant coaches were brought back. Now I am hoping that they all are shown the door.
I’ve seen enough.

Only problem with that is... usually teams would name an interim. We don't want CF hiring another coach before he gets fired.

There's no Scott Gordon to step in anymore. There's only Lappy lol.

Every single playoff team will pay a good price to acquire Giroux if they can if he is made available at the trade deadline. The only question is the cap. Giroux is a player that while he no longer can carry a team, he will elevate any team he goes to. He is still a really good player.
- MJL

2 goals in his last 28 playoff games while being a minus 11. What exactly is he elevating lol. This goes back to over valuing our own
