The Flyers are just a slow team full of inconsistent forwards that completely disappear for weeks at a time! I have to admit that my favorite trade over the summer was dumping Jakey for Atkinson, but I am becoming disappointed in Atkinson. He needs to score at least 30 goals for that trade to be good. He tries hard, but it seems he is overmatched physically in most battles he gets into. Soft and slow will not win in today's(or yesterday's) NHL. Happy Thanksgiving! |

Same issues for how many years now. Only way it will change is if this team just sinks to the bottom and fans stay away. Hopefully with inflation rising and the team being dog crap they do not go.
They do not have the GM coaches or players to get this team where it wants to go. A complete tear down is what was needed several times over the last decade. Including this past summer. This is a rudderless organization. Sooner they sell it the better.

The Flyers aren't slow. They're an average skating team that plays slow. Florida is a faster team that also plays a faster style of play. Transition and puck moving are the name of the game. Florida's defenseman are superior to the Flyers. They move and skate the puck quickly. Combine that with some forward speed and a speed system, and they attack in waves.

I wish there was a stat that tracks how often a team deliberately gives up possession. The Flyers continue to use simple wheel strong side breakouts that really are so basic that other teams are sitting waiting on it. I posted about it last night. Sanheim has the puck and wheels behind the net. He has a free skating lane but doesn't use it. Instead he sends the puck up the wall to a covered forward, putting the puck in a 50/50 battle. This is not just Sanheim. It's coaching.
Other teams defenseman skate the puck up or have a forward come deep and then use counters and one touch passes to move the puck with speed through the neutral zone to generate attacks.
There are other coaching issues such as the Flyers having difficulty executing AV's overload/man to man D zone coverage scheme. The PP obviously. Issues on the PK. The Flyers have a personnel issue and the coaches are not making adjustments. - MJL
At what point does the player say well this is a poop system and not playing to our strengths? It is the coaching no doubt. How the phuck the GM cant or wont see this is mind boggling.

Farabee lost his stick and stopped playing, G tried to make a play to make up for the guy with no stock, he didn’t get it, game over . Simple as that. - ClaudeFather

What about floridas forwards, arent they superior to ours also. I mean, not sure they can keep up with all the goals we are scoring.

AV is owed what 15 million? 5 million per I think. Then another 2 million at least for another coach.
Don't see them doing it just yet. That is a lot of money. Add on the assistant coaches as well. That is a big nut to swallow.

You’re asking about who’s man is who’s. G was trying to make up for Farabee. Just because moronic posters think one way you are butt hurt |

He seems to be mailing it in and probably doesn't care if he gets fired as long as he gets his cash. It's what happens. Everyone burns out eventually and he is probably cooked. Therrien is basically an unlikeable strapperhead and should have never been hired in the first place, but apparently AV insisted on it. They can ride off into the sunset together as far as I'm concerned. |

3 on 3 in OT is man to man. Ekblad was originally Farabee's man. Farabee had his stick knocked out of his had by Ekblad. That's the first clue that Ekblad was Farabee's man. Giroux saw that Farabee had lost Ekblad and switched to Ekblad. Was that the correct move, can't say. Farabee and Giroux were a little confused and almost bumped each other off. Giroux reached to break up the pass down low and was caught flatfooted. Ekblad moved laterally to get away from Giroux and got open.

Seriously dude. The coaching deserves criticism but honestly sometimes the things you come up with. He's not mailing it in.

I'm probably wrong about this, but I feel defense in 3 on 3 is like a matchup zone in basketball. You play man to man but pick up your man in your area. Way too much ro follow one special player. |

Do you disagree with my opinion that Konecny was one of the better forwards in the game for the Flyers. Was I incorrect? If you actually discuss that, you may offer something and actually contribute. Or you can continue the way you are. |

you are trying to erase the fact that he was garbage in OT, which was OPs original point. But rather make on comment on that point you do what you always do and systematically disagree with everything that everyone says on this website its like don't get enough attention at home so you need to take the opposite stance of everything that is posted here.
to each his own i guesss? |

You are wrong and are wasting my time and everyone else's. You have a personal issue and I don't care what you think. |
