But that my point, they were not just a bad team last year, they were a laughing stock! It takes time to rebuild from that. This off-season was just a step towards building a better team. Unfortunately we have yet to experience what level this team is capable of because of key injuries. But even when Ellis and Hayes come back, this team may not have enough to contend for a cup. But they will be better and would have taken a step in the right direction. Hopefully when this season is over, more will be learned and then actions will be taken that constitute another step forward. The team is not going to blow it up, they will continue to build on the fly. Thus we just have to hope Fletcher makes the right decisions moving forward.

You have the conversation inaccurately. It was not a conversation about Brassard over Thompson. It was about Brassard as a top 9 center option. I replied he was washed up and I was not interested in him as a center in the top 9. Not when they had Couturier, Hayes, Laughton and Frost was still a possibility at that point.
