If there is a fracture and a series of cliques in the dressing room, a weak coach, a waffling GM, and an owner who doesn't know what string to pull, this is going to get worse, before it gets better.

I saw this chart on "Performance vs. Trust". Effectively, if you have high performers who are untrustworthy off the ice / battle field, those performers are considered toxic, and are less desirable than medium or weak performers with a high degree of trust.

I think the Aquilini's likely made a lot money as a result of astute management. So eventually, they are going to find the right management group, realize that they can't be involved day to day, and are going to have to be prepared to make a series of difficult decisions.

All in all, the two dudes I feel the worse for? Travis Green and Thatcher Demko. Travis has to feel like Dallas Eakin, and Thatcher has to feel like "why am I trying so hard..."

I watched my soccer team struggle for years the same way. The players were there but the results never were. 9 coaches in 10 years. Finally found the right coach that has got the best out of the players as a team. Young players are improving when they come to the team and coaching is helping them grow.

Players that leave seem to struggle.

The coach understands what to do to get the best out of his players.
