This doesn't reassure me in the least.

Ah the good old days…
I remember telling you all and your old blogger Ian Espledouche how bad the Virtanen, Shinkaruk and Gaunce picks were. You all told me I was so wrong and had no clue. Especially that Bieksa#3 douche.

Easy on the "You ALL told me".
I never, and most on here I believe didn't want Virtanen. I know for certain that I wished for a foam brick when they picked Shinkaruk. I wanted them to trade up for Chris Krieder.
And as for Gaunce, well worth the joy he has created on this board.

A nice two way player that would be a bargain at two mil per year. At 7.5 mil , not so much a bargain. - VANTEL
Benning constantly gets fucked over on contract structure by agents who are much smarter than him. That Boeser contract at 7.5 million dollars in the final year is just awful

Theoretically, they could sign him to a cheaper contract than his QO. Unlikely, but it is possible.

Yes ALL was an exaggeration. But seeing your post just brought back those memories.
I dont recall even seeing you on those threads.
Beeker#3, Esplen, Hankthetank, Bloated, thundachunk, Marwood, whiskydoucheface, and more all arguing how Shink was the steal of the draft. Esplen said he had him ranked third overall and Beeker said 6th.
But then again Esplen also had Frank Corrado as a future team Canada Olympian.
So many said Barkov was going to be a total bust.
I don't think Petey is the player he was or has been portrayed to be, so I wouldn't be building around him. Not my type of player. My biggest fear is that they do something extremely stupid, like mortgage more of the future to make the playoffs this season. As has been stated, JB is fighting for his job, and FA is fighting for playoff revenue. Very scary prospect this is. So say we make a trade for yet another 1st to "get in the dance" yet we miss by just that much. Then what? Yet another pick traded, have to qualify Brock at 7.5, and the kicker is do JTM and Bo want to stay in this rudderless shatshow ship without a President of Hockey Ops at the helm after next season? To me, it is time to really assess what we have currently in this group and if there are any glaring concerns with it, then its time to blow it up and rebuild correctly from a PofHO down. - carsonagenic
Well I think everyone's fear is they push chips further in to try and win this year. But that's not really the hypothetical we're talking about.
I agree they need new management. I don't think anyone should be traded until a new Pres, GM, and coach are in place. But I still think JTM needs to go – not only to sell an asset high, but because the long-term look for this team's timeline and his age/cap/contract situation just don't line up.
I like the Noah Dobson deal but what is with this Kevin Fiala fascination people? I would keep Miller over any trade involving him unless it contained a 1st as well.
Edit: Actually still don't want Fiala just picks and prospects - carsonagenic
Of course everyone wants Dobson. He isn’t for sale and the islanders aren’t buyers.

You need to learn how to let some of this shit go.
If Benning feels he needs to trade Miller to fix Chemistry and try to salvage the season, TDL will be too late. Personally I think the season is lost as long as Green and co are still coaching. Shaw is the only one I would keep. - Retinalz

Part of what's killing us at the moment is letting players that had value walk for nothing. Not a chance JTM is resigning.
Boeser looked real good last year like he had turned the corner. Now it looks like his skating and confidence has regressed much like Petey. - LordHumungous
So they looked good when they couldn't go out and party? Now that bars and clubs are back open, and the booger sugar is flowing, they're sucking? Hmmm

I don't honestly remember anyone looking really good last year. I think if I needed to pick one player that I thought had a good year it would be Hoglander.
I guess Boeser had a decent year . My first recollection was the whole team was horrible
