Evan Bouchard is a smart hockey player, makes smart decisions with the puck for a young player. For as bad a GM Peter Chiarelli turned out to be in Edmonton he made some good draft picks.

They’ve been trying to be good for almost eight frickin years spending to the cap amd trading away youth and picks like candy

FA is not shy about spending money on the ice or press box. Just not in the parts that matter the most, the front office. Shame. I'd give up Roussel or Beagle to have a better coach.

Even Hughes looked like an NHL D playing 3rd pairing.

Tippett's a decent coach. 22 years of experience before joining Edmonton.

Sounds like you need to make a protest trade. Hart for Demko?

I also lost Kuemper tonight because his skate blade fell off for the 2nd game in a row.

from someone who’s played at a high level, I’m sorry but you’re grossly misinformed. A lot of stuff happens within a dressing room that’s never spoken about and it’s very rare everyone likes everyone. Strong teams pull together for the greater good.

Jonathan Quick wasn’t very well liked in LA (apparently) but Sutter got everyone pulling in the right direction, that’s what I mean by leadership. If what Don says is true Travis Green is 100% part of the problem and guys most likely don’t have a lot of respect for him.

I doubt that organizations would put up with physical violence because someone doesn’t skate hard enough now. Maybe way back in the old timey days gramps, but in case you haven’t noticed, times have changed.

I’m not saying guys don’t have arguments, or get into fights, but what you are describing sounds more like assault.

One point behind the nucks with a game in hand. Hilarious.

It's like FA can't find anyone to work for him.

Expect him to announce the guy who won his hockey pool last year as the new GM and the GM to hire his midget coach.

Enjoy!

Canucks locker room intel:

- Petey’s ego is insane. Room is super cliquey. He won’t play with anybody not in his circle. Reason why him and Garland haven’t been put on the same line.

- Hughes also bad, but not petey level.

- JT is apparently losing his mind because he can’t stand how the young guys carry themselves and dont give a (frank) about losing. He won’t re-sign in van.

- Nobody respects Bo in the locker room and he just gets walked over as a captain.

- After the win on Friday there was a big verbal fight in the dressing room. Coaches called a meeting that went until after midnight.

- CanuckDon

Man, if that's true, I would understand a full blow up.

Who knows.

The Canucks have been a poorly run organization for years now. For everything Benning does right, he does something else horribly wrong.

I don't believe it's just Benning though, Weisbrod and Green have a say in certain areas and they are all (frank)ed up.

Through 20 games, the Vancouver Canucks have scored fewer goals than any other team in their 52 season history.

Through 20 games, the Vancouver Canucks have the second worst record of any team in their 52 season history (worst: '86/'87).

Best team JB has put together.

I mean, if you're the owner, how could you not fire the guy/s in charge of this?

Also, the JTM "I don't know" clip is pretty damn telling: https://twitter.com/timan...tatus/1463715283957395466

What’s next?

Canucks ownership is apparently pondering its next move, stunned that things have gone so badly. Postmedia News understands that chairman Francesco Aquilini and his brother Roberto Aquilini are at odds over the direction of the team.

Roberto’s never been much interested in the team’s affair, it’s been seen as Francesco’s ship, but if the family name was being sullied, and we know fans aren’t speaking well of ownership right now, then he’d be concerned, possibly even towards action.

This appears to be the case, though what course might be taken is not known.

Ownership’s past trend has been to have a succession plan in place before making any management changes. Before Mike Gillis was replaced, Trevor Linden was lined up to be the new president.

When Gillis was hired, that came right on the heels of the dismissal of Dave Nonis.

Further, before Gillis was dismissed in 2014, he was prevented from dismissing coach John Tortorella by ownership. (Tortorella, of course, was dismissed by Linden, after Gillis was sent out the door.)

There’s plenty of reasons to think that debate at the management level is why Benning hasn’t tried to at least change his coach, Travis Green, something that is usually understood to be a GM’s last manoeuvre before facing his own dismissal.

Something we've talked about before via The Province... how bad does it have to get before the other Aquilinis step in?
