From the last blog, in the midmorning timeframe.
We will see how the Vegas Cap situation plays out.
If they can "Kucherov" Eichel u till the playoffs, they don't have a Cap problem.
If they want Eichel to play before the Playoffs, they'll have a $7m Cap problem to deal with after they have sent down 3 you g guys currently up.
The Cap space IS THE asset they covet... again, IF they want Eichel back before the playoffs.
Your post was spot on this AM. - IonSabres
Could be reading it wrong but won't they be 3m over when Pacs comes of LTIR even with Eichel on LTIR |

I think everything became clear when they signed Dell. His proven track record of sub-par goaltending for every team that he played was evident and the recipe for a good draft pick next July. Loading up on draft picks will help as well so maybe the team will finally get a few good pieces that will right the sinking ship. |

If Dell made the Sabres, OK. But he was sent to Rochester. The only way Dell was up here was in the case of an injury. |

Yes.
There was an article written about it in thexAthletic about how they can maneuver, I can't remember the who's and what's but they presented it with the takeaway being they'll be searching for $7m to bring Eichel back...during the seaso |

Should’ve taken my proposal … Gibby for Jack. Better than what you got from Vegas.
Sometimes the best deals are the simplest ones. Alas I’m glad we didn’t make the deal for Gibby or McTavish and others …
For the incredible fans that Sabres have I hope you guys get it turned around. |

Gibson hasn't been good in like 5 years. If you think this little streak means anything, I've got a bridge to sell you. |

Ehhhh….
I think he’s good. Problem is I think he gets worn out on a terrible team ( not this year obviously) he starts well usually then gets pummeled and nosedives |

Stars will have to trade a goalie in a few weeks. It should be a reasonable get for one of them as they will have cap issues. Does one of Holtby, Kuby or Bishop (cough, cough) sound good for you? Kuby and Bishop have 2 yrs left......
Bishp will probably go to the farm team to do a conditioning stint.....
I would think going for Kuby would be the better option for you. Will give you time to bring up U-Pekka... |

Sabres want to keep sucking. So we won’t trade for either of them |

Hank Balling: Upon Further Review: The Goaltenders - Hank Balling
They’ve allowed more goals expected than the AVERAGE goaltender because they are BELOW average
Dell doesn’t even belong in the NHL at all
And Tokarski is a fringe goalie at best, who has mostly been a career AHL goalie
I told u the goaltending wouldn’t hold up
It’s utterly foolish of all those who thought it would
Is it JUST the goaltending? Of course not
But inarguably PART of the problem |

Did you really think Anderson was going to be able to play the entire season? Then again, what goalie in their right mind would want to jeopardize their career playing for a tanking team.

It is just a shame that it is another wasted hockey season for the fans. Hopefully, next season some more missing pieces will show up to play hockey and make it at least interesting. |

I'm happy with what the Sabres received TBH.
GIBBY is great and all, no doubt, but Eichel should have returned more from the Ducks.
Gibby would have ruined the Dignity Dive |

Who was arguing the Goaltending would be fine?
From what I've read on here, most have been somewhat surprised it was as good as it was earlier on...and most realized that if Anderson went down they'd be in trouble.
The issue bandied about on here has been should Adams make a move to help this roster more.
Some say yes as they're sick of the losing; while others want to stay the course to realize a higher draft pick in July. |

Most games have in fact been interesting.
The season is progressing like most thought and hopes it would....yield a high draft pick while allowing The Don to develop his young guys who will be here. It is by Adams design the play fast and without alot of skill. The Don getting more out of guys is the risk.
Stay the course, resist the urge to F it up! |

Agreed that it was easy to predict that a 40 year old goaltender would get injured at some point.
Funny as I was told by one poster that Anderson was no more likely to get injured than any other player 😅 |

They're almost at the quarter pole of the season, and so far, there's only been one dud (Calgary game).
The dud per game index is much lower so far this season than it was under Ralph last season.
Incredibly low bar for sure, but still noteworthy, especially considering their injury issues. |

If you trade for ONE, average, goalie… it shows the team their effort matters and you want to help.
Trading for one average goalie still leaves you with an average aarp goalie that probably will be hurt again and two below average goalies.
I still think it’s a solid tank with dignity move. But don’t see it happening. |
