By design though, no? The sack, per se, isn't the goal so much as the pressure. |

I have not seen Curb since a long time. Larry was still married when I was watching and looking for a new country club. |

Circumstances and plans often change sir.
Further, how often do the Sabres even have a clear plan, let alone stick with one?
Bringing in a legitimate NHL goaltender would likely not make much of a difference ultimately in the standings this season, but it would show the coach and players that management is at least supporting the effort to try and win.
The current goaltending isn't just incompetent, it is an outright embarrassment. - kingcong39
Not sure I can agree. The goaltending has been inconsistent but not embarrassing. Dell didn’t have much support or luck against the Bruins and maybe would want one back. The most embarrassing thing last night was a Bruins player shooting into an empty net while trying to avoid 2 Sabres sticks that were lying on the ice. This team is young, will make lots of bad choices causing breakdowns and in the end this will not help average NHL goaltending

“Never have I been comfortable as a coach trying to say it’s a goaltending thing,” Granato said. “Even if, at times, you thought maybe that could have been a save, you still look at the things that led to that and work to improve those. If that’s the case and it’s a goal we didn’t like, there are other things we can turn our attention to that are within our control to become better at."

We have let in 12.32 goals above expected so far after last night. That's 3rd worst in the league behind only the Totes and Weaken. "Average" is a very strong word to use lol. |

flip side
majority of the future is not on the roster yet
no quinn
no krebs
no tuch
no peterka
no power
no johnson
none of their 3 goalies
no sameulsson
no johnson
so they sacrifice this season for the 2022 draft
and more ice time for asplund, tage, cozens, casey, dahlin, bryson and joker
if we had a top 3 pick in the 2016 draft and pushed off getting kane, bogo, ror and lehner for 1 more year, we would have been the panthers or canes a few years before they were good
my 2 cents of course - homiedclown
I agree with this post. Yes, we have been suffering for 10 years. Might as well suffer one more year (this year) before hopefully addressing our most glaring issues - goalie and right-D. With all the players Homie mentioned above and the removal of the scrubs, next year's team will be substantially better.
However, I hope they give UPL the start this Friday. They can't put Dell in net ever again. UPL needs to share the net with Torkarski until Anderson is ready to play again.

The rebounds Dell gave up we’re absolutely awful. The Bruins had 1.15 expected goals in the first and he gave up 4 goals on 6 scoring chances
It was embarrassing |

Just saw this stat, we now have let in 12.32 goals above expected. That's 3rd worst in the league behind only the Yotes and Kraken. Average goaltending would be super awesome right now. |

Love it when a plan comes together
Most of us fans were looking for:
Young player development
Competitive games
High scoring losses
Top 5 pick in a deep draft
Competent teaching coach
I pretty happy thru 11 home games...
Happy Thanksgiving all....

And it’s trending to be the worst.
We were about even through 8-9 games
They’re averaging letting in a goal+ more than expected every game |
