Could you give me a couple of realistic nhl goalies that would make us a playoff team?

Because unfortunately, picking 10, 12, 14 doesnt cut it.

I still believe in tanking , it's still how teams win stanley cups.

Stammer 1OA is 2 time defending champion

Who knows, I'm not gonna pretend to have any front office knowledge of who's available or what not, just eventually you have to try to win more than a lottery like we have the last 11 years. If something is available I would like to see Adams pull the trigger than sit back and hope for Wright, who we are more than likely not getting anyways.

cant wait 3 years to develop an RD

free agent or trade fills that void

unless you flip dahlin to RD

Agreed, at some you need to purchase right defenseman, kinda like o lineman

Thanks to a pair of players drafted in the 2nd and 3rd round.
- kingcong39

Not to mention the fact it took him 11 years to get there. Let's even throw out his rookie year because of that bozo Melrose, so 10 years.

So, 2028 for the Sabres then?

You gotta pick good players thru out the draft...

Very easy to say....

Ovi
Crosby / malkin
Pk88/ toews

They all had surrounding casts, but 1st OA's have a way of winning.....
Not always just the cup, but getting into the playoffs as a minimal objective.

Toronto matthews/ JT

The oilers are gonna smash records this season

They signed Taylor hall, the plan was to try and win.

Didnt work, but they weren't tanking with that move.

They tried to win, and Jack's vag got in the way.
And Ralph's nose...

The really have had a couple losers " as leaders" .

Does it count the same, if the 2nd round pick had to wait to win since being drafted in 2011? or is it just the #1 overalls?

Confusing argument WET1.

But is it worth it to give us assets for a goalie like Holtby
(just bc he’s been brought up) so that maybe we can finish 8th last???
I don’t think so

This team has A LOT of holes
And the plan is to fill those holes with the talented youth we have coming up
I get that it sucks for this year, but it is what it is

No moves we make now are gonna make much of a difference for the team this season anyways

Bring in a Dallas goalie and at least show the kids you are trying to give them something and respect their effort.

Don’t need two, just one, one goalie the is an actual nhl goalie.

We have 1. He does have his aarp card. And he will be hurt. Often.

Then we have an Ahl goalie and an echl goalie.

With aarp down, the kids are defeated after the first softy echl lets in.

I am not saying to unload the cupboards for a goalie. I’m saying throw a mid round pick for whoever Dallas needs to move.

It won’t make that much of a difference in the standings but it will help a young team’s confidence and keep them battling.

Different scouting bias’.

Kucherov put up Michkov type numbers in Russia at the same age. If Michkov lasts till the 2nd round next year I’ll eat a shoe.

Point had 91 points in 72 games in his draft year and fell due to height. I highly doubt Savoie falls to the third round cause of his height

Dallas…. That’s all…

Rostered 3 with Bishop on ltir. Once bishop comes off ltir. The have to do something. They have zero space with ltir. Bishop is $4.9 mill… something needs to give.

I don’t care which of the 4 they want to trade. Take whoever. Doesn’t matter. Can’t be worse than dell…

You’re assuming Dallas wants to move a goalie
We don’t know if that’s true or not though, do we?

This. It's time this organization commits to it's players and fans and show that they want to win. We've drafted top 8 every year since the 2013 draft 🤢.

3 goalies currently rostered. Holtby, kubhlain, ottinger (all spelled wrong).

They have zero cap space. And have 4.9 mill on ltir with bishop. Once bishop comes off ltir they have to do something.

Ok, seems reasonable
Can’t necessarily force them to do something before,
but it’s an idea worth exploring

And who knows….?
Adams might already be in contact with Dallas

After taking a quick look….
Holtby is the only vet without an NTC,
so he’d seem to be a reasonable target

Another thing to think about though….
Seems like we are trying to bring in guys that are good for the locker room- guys who wanna be here & lead
Remember the things Tuch was saying when he was traded here?
Not every Vet is gonna be like that though
There’s likely quite a few that would be unhappy to to come here & deal with this mess

Gotta keep that in mind too
Not everyone is gonna be the “fit” we are looking for

That Girgensons hit didn't even deserve 5 minutes let alone a suspension. McAvoy turns and elbows him and Girgs just blew him up, he straight nuked his ass.

The nhl favorites have a core of good young top overall picks.

7 of the top 8 teams have a #1 or #2 or both...

It's the same formula that went into mceichel.

It just didnt work with him, it happens.

I'm curious if Toronto would be open to moving Mrazek?

I know they just signed him and he has a modified no trade, but Campbell has been very good, and Woll has looked solid so far, plus they might want to sign Campbell long term and they'd need cap room to do so, which would mean moving Mrazek?

Would Mrazek be open to being traded to Buffalo?

He has 2 years left after this one with a cap hit of $3.8M.

Feels like Mrazek would be a good fit if he'd be open to playing for the Sabres.
