tough call

https://www.espn.com/nhl/...inst/dir/asc/group/league

rangers have allowed 52 goals, scored 56 and are 8 games above .500
the islanders have allowed 51 goals, but have only scored 32 so they are a bottom dweller

the teams that have allowed 60 or more goals are pretty bad aside from vegas and the wild

Does seem more likely to be an offseason move
And like i said before, i don’t think he’d actually wanna come here

Worth a call though i suppose
I did bring Mrazek’s name up a few years ago as a guy to look at, so i wouldn’t be opposed to him IF (and that’s a big “if”) he’d agree to come here

Kinda seems like Holtby is an obvious target though

Anton Khudobin (4-team no-trade list)
Ben Bishop (10-team no-trade list)

Thompson is having a career year.

Asplund is solidifying himself as a solid middle 6 forward.

Olofsson has looked very good in limited minutes.

Cozens is having a great sophomore season so far.

Other than Dahlin being meh, everyone who matters is doing quite well, or being kept miles away from Buffalo (Power, Johnson, Krebs, Quinn, Peterka, Samuelsson, Levi, Portillo)

I could care less about making a run to 8th. Give me one of Wright, Savoie, Cooley, Geekie and make some good hockey moves this offseason and try to win next year

Problem is, this is an extension of a losing culture that's been around for nearly a decade. You don't just flip a switch and say, "OK, now we have enough talent to win."

This group of youngins and their rookie head coach should be offered the opportunity to win now on a nightly basis against teams not far removed from their talent-level. Having Dell in there, as well as Tokarski and even Anderson, does not offer them that opportunity on a regular basis. And so the culture of losing continues.

Perfectly stated! Not to mention fans. It doesn't take much to get Sabres fans excited at this point.

Bang on…. I’m fine with one of these goalies as a backup. One in the Ahl for when anderson gets hurt. But for the love of all that is hockey. At least attempt to find a backup level nhl goalie that you can partner with anderson.

Throw your team, the kids, and your coach a bone! Enough poope! A slight upgrade in net will not ruin the tank!

flip side

majority of the future is not on the roster yet

no quinn
no krebs
no tuch
no peterka
no power
no johnson
none of their 3 goalies
no sameulsson
no johnson

so they sacrifice this season for the 2022 draft

and more ice time for asplund, tage, cozens, casey, dahlin, bryson and joker

if we had a top 3 pick in the 2016 draft and pushed off getting kane, bogo, ror and lehner for 1 more year, we would have been the panthers or canes a few years before they were good

my 2 cents of course

And they still couldn't afford jalapeños for the nachos

- Hank Balling

Come on down, Sabres are in town Dec 2. There are jalapeños in the building...
https://twitter.com/FlaPa...day-caterwaul-game-19-nhl
And just a short ride up the turnpike to the Pegula abode, one could stop by and leave messages about the goalies on their driveway, or something

I wonder what they are doing with all the extra Sabres Thanksgiving placemats

they were giving away 1 to each of the first 8,000 fans last night

I trust The Don to be able to handle the proper development of the youngs this argument is based on. Proper focus on developing their own game for the names we all know. That's the single goal. Donnie can handle that.
I'm not worried about the psyche of the placeholders on this roster.

Adding a decent Goalie would help enough to propel them to ~10th pick. It is critical to secure a true 1C in this draft. He isn't on the roster nor in the pipeline currently. It is exactly why VGK traded for Eichel...they couldn't secure the SC without one.

We all knew this was going to be a rough year, well many did anyway...we just wanted to see exciting hockey and growth from the young core.

Points taken. Can't get the wretched taste of the 2013-15 tank years out of my mouth. I get everything surrounding it but it put this franchise in such a deep hole that it'll take a Herculean effort just to climb to the edge of "Losers Abyss". Constant losing is using players as sacrificial lambs in their quest for the future. And, imo, this group of players, outside of the useless ones like eakin and hayden, etc, don't deserve it.

They’ve lost 3 in a row at home
- sbroads24

They have a lot of their better players out on covid protocol right now.
