Anyone see if the leafs are going to make the stupid decision to play Clifford tonight?
The lineup I saw (up to date as of 9:07am today) does not include him. |

I've probably posted this to you before, but he runs a diner in Niagara Falls:

I've never actually been, so I can't recommend it or not.
But if he's your favourite player all-time, I'd imagine you'd want to put it on your bucket list. - Atomic Wedgie
I was at the Toronto sports card expo couple weeks ago, he was there..just as a Vendor, he rents his own table..sells is stuff. could just walk up talk to him, buy something from him. seemed like a funny guy

I don't see him in any lineup either. I think he's travelling with the team in California as insurance. Marlies in TO, makes it hard to make a call up to west coast on short notice. |

Wondering if it’s cause Kase might be walking the line of potentially missing a game. If he had to be sat bump up Engvall to the third line (since he’s capable of playing C and both wings) and bring in Clifford to be on the 4th line
I think people are making a big deal about it since it’s LA they play first after the call up |

It's not a big deal IMO, Durzi playing his first NHL game is a big deal though. His AHL numbers are pretty good. RHD that Leafs included in the Muzzin deal.

I think its just insurance. Maybe Kase can't go and Clifford gets his old team. Or he can visit family while there.

The guy is on fire this year… 30P total, 15 of them goals in 19 games. If. Keeps up this pace he’ll get 50 more goals this year… which would literally have him overcome Jagr and leave him 6 goals shy of Howe.
Crazy that at this rate if he does it again next year he’ll be in second and only 34 goals away from Gretzky with 3 more years to go.
I mean even easier would be if he gets 65 this year (as I said his current pace) and only lands 25 goals a year in each of the last 4 years of his contract he overcomes Gretzky by a single goal. |

Too bad for Matthews then lol
The leafs can’t afford a guy who makes more than Kerfoot to basically do Kerfoot’s job.
Play a top 6 LW unless JT or Matthews gets hurt and move to C. Also capable of switching from an offensive to a defensive role on the wing or if someone like Kampf got hurt play C on the defensive line.
The only way Kerfoot gets replaced is if the leafs find someone who can do everything he does but for less money.
Also I read up on potential teams Miller could get traded to if the Canucks do decide to do it and I haven’t seen the leafs mentioned once by anyone. Like I said it’s nothing more than a fantasy. - Dozzer
The other way to look at it is that if the Leafs have to rely on Kerfoot replacing JT or Matthews for any critical period, they’re (frank)ed. I don’t think they need to make any moves right now but at some point they might want to roll the dice and upgrade. If that means moving Kerfoot, then let’s avoid the JT ballet spins at centre ice.

If the leafs lose 1-0 by a Durzi goal while Muzzin was on the ice I’ll be sad lol |

It’s just a different insurance guy. It was Semyonov and Anderson. Now it’s Semyonov and Clifford. |

His family lives in Missouri if you’re talking about his wife and kids

How do you upgrade Kerfoot without spending more or losing his versatility?
You don’t.
As long as half the cap is already spent in the top two lines don’t expect anyone else with a significant contract or they would have signed Hyman. |

Safe to say his wife and 3 kids aren’t going to skip school and travel to another state to visit with dad for an hour or two before the leafs head to SJ tomorrow to get ready for the next game on Friday |

Why not? They likely won't see him again until Xmas and its US Thanksgiving. Kids aren't in school for the next few days.

Give Teemu's steakhouse in Laguna a go if you get out here sometime.. I'm taking the couple TO boys down there Friday night to watch the Ducks along with the Leafs play SJ... It's pretty spectacular.
