Bill, how hot are these coaches seats? It’s become incredibly difficult to watch. The game plan is not working.

Another lackluster performance -- Jones stood on his head, he earned that loser point

Konecny was an embarrassment in overtime. Also some horrible calls... Frost offsides on breakaway?

On a lighter note, I'm thankful I have you to read every morning Bill... Maybe someday we'll have flyers teams we're excited to watch again, though in the cap era, I doubt it.

8 wins 10 losses and heading in the wrong direction. Most of the points this team has gotten is because Hart or Jones stole the points. Something has got to change they are as unwatchable as last year. Their plodding style of play just doesnt work in the NHL today. The young guys just havent developed over the last 5 yrs , not one bonafide young difference maker has come from all the draft picks( other then Maybe? Hart), and the vets are now in their 30s and slowing. Bad combo

I think the NHL may be the deepest league out of the pro sports as far as competitive teams go, so why does it seem that the refs are getting worse? This league is in desperate need of a deeper ref pool! I don't use bad calls as excuse for a loss, but some of these calls are ludicrous!! Can the Flyers just buyout JVR's contract now? Really tired of watching that dude float around with his head up his arse for the majority of the games the past few years for that whopping 7 mil a year contract.

Your really are beating this thing to death huh. That can happen in OT, you get caught out for while it can get ugly. He had a very strong game, give it a rest

I would say that they're back to the Holmgren model. They aren't in the cup mix so why go back to that model? What is a better position to be in? An average team with aging players up against the cap. Or a younger average team, still waiting on drafting and developing with some cap flexibility? Flyers management has the team in the worst possible spot a team can be in. They made a major mistake in losing patience.

Last night was a measuring stick game. Flyers were held in it by goaltending. It's not just that Florida has some better skaters. It's the way they play. The Flyers not only have to add some speed and skill but they need to play a more modern game and style of play.

So this is what i don't understand, you are totally against trading G or Couts, but think the GM is taking the wrong approach keeping older players, most of the other older players are 1 yr contracts. JVR....well good luck trading him. Ellis? He's our best dman, just need him healthy. What's that leave Hayes? ok, i'll give you that, but i wouldn't even call him old.

Your theory is flawed, if you want him moving away from the older players, you need to include G in the conversation

A buyout of JVR is a very bad idea. I understand the frustration though. At some point he has to start producing. As well as everyone else. Although I think there are many factors to it.

so far this season, yes, JVR has not been effective and has looked lost recently but As sad and pathetic as this sounds I feel like JVR has bene one of the better players the past few years (not including this season). That probably explains why this team is dreadful to watch though now that I say that out loud 🤔
There is nobody in the league who will take JVR and that 7m contact now. If he had continued his play from last season then it's possible he is moved but not anymore

At some point JvR has to gain the same respect as a Sean Couturier, Claude Giroux, Jake Voracek or a Kevin Hayes as a high paid top six forward. Regardless of points, I thought JvR started the season very well. He’s driving to the net, making plays but regardless of chances, Laughton and Lindblom are not as talented as the players I named above. I thought JvR’s talents were on full display all last season when he was used as a top six forward all season.

I personally look at a player like Joel Farabee as a player with all the talent in the world go pointless for like 11 games and still getting a top six push. Why?

Let's trade JVR for the King's Zamboni driver. That still may be an overpay.

Replay showed Frost was NOT offside and ref blew that call.

Make it a challengable play. If the refs are wrong, penalty shot! If the challenging team is wrong, they give up their timeout and go on the PK.

The 1 point helps, but the Fly Boys need some wins. We can't expect Hart and Jones to stand on their heads every game. Until Hayes and Ellis come back, the Flyers have to some how create some offense. Right now the Flyers are 27th in scoring at 2.44 per game. The PP is a dismal 26th at 14.6%. The PK is 13th at 82.8%. These numbers won't get the Flyers into the playoffs. Hopefully AV figures something out soon? Another tough game tomorrow vs the Canes. The Canes have lost 2 in a row for the 1st time this season. I'm sure they will be playing hard to stop their losing streak.

Hey Bill, Any updates on Allison?

On this Thanksgiving I am grateful for Risto and Jones proving that they have been misused for years
I can't wait til CF signs risto for another 6 years, too!

That will give us 6 years of unadulterated hate to argue about! So thankful!!

I hope they are on the hot seat because this could spiral out of control quickly
Last year they blamed the kungflu
This year they will blame injuries
We have blamed previous coaches
We have blamed previous players..

For the first time I am leaning towards a coaching change. Especially therrien... He could be the worst power play coach I've ever seen.
AV makes some boneheaded moves as well and can't seem to get these guys on the same page still

How long do you think AV has if they drop the next 5 in a row?
