I like Laughton….but not at 3 mil for long term…they just have too, too many guys not responding very well to AV’s message. Add JVR and Lindblom….the stagnate play of Konecny, Sanheim and Farabee. They just seem to get outplayed for long stretches.

Our very best players are B+/A- kinda guys. Other teams best players are A/A+. This disparity shows up.

Its pretty evident spring of 2020 was a mirage. Before and after is the reality.

But don't worry, they will fire the coach, and huff and puff their way to a 15-20 pick. They will overvalue that pick, say that we are getting close, and we wil be having this very same conversation 5 years down the road.

So AV says we played a good 2nd period just unfortunately gave up 4 goals. Lol

2 weeks ago I brought this up as well and was told JVR has been playing well, just snake bitten.
He’s awful for what you expect from 7 million dollar player. You pay 7 mill for a third line player who has pitted a couple goals so far?

Yep there will be no humility. Everybody will say how good of a team they are. The coach will talk about all the experience he has and how all he’s missing is a cup for his trophy case.

This team stunk coming into the year. Trying to reincarnate as the 2015 rangers is probably not going to work. Look around the league they are getting left in the dust

What is starting to happen now is what was happening last year, a lot of players are playing poorly and its spreading to other players like a virus. Besides the goalies, there is not much more good happening for this team right now.

The Islanders just played a 13 game road trip ... 13 games!! And they came back from up just a game below .500. They will turn it around here now that they will get a bunch of home games

It's not that they are not responding it's just that they are no very good players. Laughton isnt going to give you much offense..JVR was always slow and over 30 getting slower. If he cant score on PP he isnt scoring. Lindblom had a good 30 stretch of games and though a nice story is a bottom 6 guy at best.

so something needs to change, players with higher compete levels? Coach? But cant keep the same and expect different. G prob wont be traded until the deadline, same with scotty, so i guess we just wait. Or coaching change asap

I won’t go so far as to say the players quit this year on the team.
I will say that the group of players they do have is just not good enough.
It’s easy to blame this guy or that guy.
In reality the lack of direction from the front office on down is manifesting itself onto the ice.

Laughton is well overpaid as a 4C. 3rd line winger in a pinch but he is a 4C no more. Lindblom I believe he has real middle 6 talent
