And unfortunately not bad enough for a top 5 pick - bradster
We’d just end up drafting the next Pitkanen, jvr, or Patrick we’re so dumb |

Only saw the last 5 minutes of the second and some of the third cause had better things to do(like taking a selfie of myself picking my arse). Anyway, things I noticed at first glance? Hart is starting to look small in net again which means he is beginning to lose his confidence. The Carolina players really seemed to be enjoying themselves with lots of smiles. Yes, they are now beginning to get laughed at by the opposing team once again. JVR and Laughts should be traded for a couple of overweight mooses!! Thanks! |

You know it’s about to get real bad when the coach continues to put a rosy spin on putrid after putrid performance - Just5
When bad team has a bad performance/ effort loss and the coach puts a positive spin on the game is a sign of a mentally week team. If the coach says anything critical they may get a Ben Simmons response, I’m mentally not ready to pay but I still get paid. Or I get injured easily if I don’t want to be around to hear about me and my mentally week teammates.
The Flyers definitely have a new identity and we are seeing it on the ice. As a long time Flyers fan it’s sad to see |

Giroux had no positive spin in his post game interview. He Was pretty critical. Have to wonder if the sugar coating from AV bothers the guys.

Couple things.
I think the team has too much talent to be this bad.
Brassard getting hurt is Frosts window in. Don't blow. It. This should mean Hayes and Brassard in, Thompson out.
Allison in.
Ellis in.
Seeler out.
Now for AV. Just going on my memory but didn't he take BOTH the Rags and the Canucks to the finals in his first year as coach? Then he flamed out quickly and was gone after 3 years. Covid screwed us of our trip to the finals his first year. Now it's the downward spiral. Time for him and his gang of 4 to be gone.

I really thought lindblom had turned a corner but there’s another guy who’s invisible. - Hextall271
At the end of the day, you root for the kid given all that he has gone through, but at some point we must face facts and say he is what he is, and right now its next to nothing. Lindblom had a bad neutral zone turnover that lead to the Cane's 2nd goal, and then was late coming back defending the Cane's 4th goal. Not scoring is one thing, but when you are not defending or strong on the puck, then you are hurting this team and that is what Lindblom is doing right now.
When Zac MacEwen is your most noticeable bottom 6 forward in a positive way, your team is in trouble. Now mind you, I love what MacEwen brings to this team, but there are a lot of players on this team that are not stepping up! |

Please regal us all again in how the off-season moves cf made improved this team? - corduroy
Quite simple actually:
1. Martin Jones - Has proven to be a more than capable backup, has stole games for this team already
2. Ryan Ellis - Top pairing defenseman, plays in all situations. We see how good he is every time he is on the ice, but unfortunately he has not been on the ice too frequently this season. But when he is, he clearly is our best defenseman
3. Risto - has played solid this year. Not perfect, but is a very good defender that adds a strong physical presence that this team sorely lacked last season.
4. Atkinson - started out of the gates strong but honestly has slid off and frankly I'm disappointed in him of late. But we got out from Jake's horrible contract, and his horrible 200 foot play, so in the end, its a win for the Flyers
5. Yandle - signed to help the PP which has been atrocious so far. Given Yandle's lack of defensive ability, this signing has not worked out.
6. Brassard/Thompson - depth forward signings which turned out to be very necessary given the injuries to Hayes and Allison. They are what they are, they have filled in admirably, Brassard in fact is 4th on the team in scoring, with more points that TK and Bee!
7. Seeler/Glendening - Depth signings for defense and Seeler has had to play pretty much all season. He is what he is, a decent depth defenseman that has been exposed because he has had to play a lot more than anyone intended him to.
So I conclude that CFs moves this off season were mostly positive, with the exception of Yandle. But even Yandle would be better if Ellis was back in the lineup and Yandle got Braun back as a partner. Injuries are not an excuse to loose 5 in a row, but they clearly are having a significant negative impact on this team that we can't simply ignore. |

To me right now this Flyers team lacks an identity. They cannot score goals and they cannot consistently shutdown teams defensively. Some teams go out there and trade chances with you like Florida or Edmonton; you know what these teams are. Some teams try to shut you down defensively and be opportunistic with their scoring like the Islanders or Bruins. What type of team do these Flyers want to be? I really don't know what they want to be, but right now I know what they are, and that is a bad team with no chemistry nor purpose. |

Laughton is well overpaid as a 4C. 3rd line winger in a pinch but he is a 4C no more. Lindblom I believe he has real middle 6 talent - Just5
Laughton got that contract to play third line wing and fill in at center. He will only put up numbers playing wing.
Either way, since they only really have one center and g apparently is now allergic to playing center we have Laughton in the middle where he traditionally does nothing. |

Deathstare is a core player. A very important one if this team is to have any success we have been told. Has roughly 11 points i his last 55+ games.
Should have jettisoned him and ex selke when the had the chance. Force CC hand and bench him. Maybe that will get him to waive his NTC.

it is a business and OL ain't doing poop.
Macewen is ok. He looks much better because of the slop on the 4th lie the flyers role out. How has NAK looked i Colorado.......Amazing they kept nate and brown over him.

so do you think we should have come back this year with mostly the same roster?
The only guy you were on board to trade was jake, you didnt want anyone else moved.
Scotty is awesome, G 4th most points since blah blah blah. Oskar is a really good player.
what are your thoughts now? time to move on from them?

You maybe right. Look, I can't argue about this because at the end of the day the team record is the only stat or metric that matters. Yesterday's game was really disheartening for me. Yes as Farabee states the team has played a lot of games recently, and have been playing top teams as well, so we knew they were not going to win every game. But to get blown out at home last night and against Boston last weekend, get shutout in Tampa and have Jones steal you a point against Florida is downright disappointing. The team continues to lack discipline in their defensive structure, turnover pucks in the neutral zone, execute poorly timed line changes and not only can't score a PP goal, but gives the other team momentum in the process! |
