1. After 2020 2nd round exit, I offered 2:1 (double your money wager) that Flyers would not get to the SCP final in the next 4 years. I even allowed for not betting any money, just a token wager. 2 people took me up, you were not one of them.
2. This year, I offered an even money wager the Flyers would not win the cup in the next 9 years (2022-30). You didn't take me up, even symbolically.
3. Now, I was offering a wager that Risto will be a possession drag. Not that he will be worse than Ellis/Provy. But that will be worse than average in the team. Not surprisingly, you didn't take me up.
Its fairly apparent who doesn't like to take risks.

What's the odds on the penguins hoisting another Stanley cup in the next 3 years?
I know the odds of giroux being on team Canada at the Olympics 2022

Your wagers are around 80/20 in your favor. Yet you claim to be a risk taker. Man up and bring it closer to 50/50 and then you might get some props. Or maybe even some takers.
Your final statement is a compliment for me coming from a guy who really hasn't been right about anything on any subject. - MJL
Such as the 2nd wager I offered above? Oh wait. You don't know that even money = 50-50.
And yes, like the time I predicted that the NHL playoffs would be held and almost exactly the conditions under which they would be held before the talks between NHLPA and NHL had even begun, at the very start of the pandemic when everything was locked down.
Thankfully, you were there to set me straight, on a day named after you:

Agree. This move was unlike anything he preached. Scott and Co. 100% forced his hand. - arichardson22
pretty sure the mandate would have been more like. "ron, we gotta get better next year, do something" as opposed to "Ron, sign JVR to $7m"

Someone who claims to be superior in intelligence over everyone else can't understand that the 50/50 comment was in relation to the odds of the Flyers winning the Cup. You don't assume any risk which is why nobody takes all the wagers you've offered. It's cowardly.

The equivalent of predicting the Sun would come up. If it's even true. Pretty much everyone knew what was going to happen. It was well discussed by many covering the league before formal talks begun between the league and the players. Even though you didn't get it right. You predicted the league would have numerous bubbles around the league. |

1st bold:
Here was your statement: "Your wagers are around 80/20 in your favor. Yet you claim to be a risk taker. Man up and bring it closer to 50/50 and then you might get some props."
Two of the 3 wagers I listed were at 50-50.
2nd bold:
Apparently, someone believed the sun coming up was an "virtual impossibility". Identity of that someone is in that image.

50/50 is the money line. The 80/20 I'm referring to is regards to the odds of the Flyers winning the Cup in the next 9 years. Too difficult for you to understand.

The best thing that could happen to this organization is if coots goes down long term. They would have no ability to win. Easiest way to tank |

No they didn't. They traded for veteran players such a Zbanaejad. Traded a first round pick and a younger Neil Pionk for Jacob Trouba. Gave up draft picks for Brendan Smith. Used free agency. It was really a combination of things. To this point, they really haven't done anything. - MJL
Zibanejad was young when they traded for him ( Brassard for Zibanejad quite the steal) and is still young as was Trouba when they signed him and he still is. . They did a full rebuild gave up lots of their vet players with Hayes being one of them along with favorites like Zuccarello..McDonagh...and even let Lundqvist walk. Only guy they kept around is Kreider and looks like that payed off. |

You said Toronto couldn’t afford JvR. They could. They just chose not to. - SuperSchennBros
They couldn’t. If they wanted to improve. ANY team can AFFORD any player if the player is a difference maker for that team….JVR although a decent producer was not that player. |

This team is unfortunately a circus of bad fundamentals. Good teams make mistakes. They have layers in place and play as a team to cover for those mistakes. However there are different levels of mistakes. I still see piss poor line changes that lead to scoring chances against. They just don't play a sound fundamental game and that's really on the coaches. I could understand playing a player like Thompson and overlooking the lack of any offense if he was a top defensive checker, face off guy or Pker. He's none of that. I understand he's a vet player with experience but he looks cooked to me. - MJL
Yes, the ill advised or poorly timed line changes are the mistakes I don't understand. Its interesting actually that you don't see bad lines changes as much in HS or college because the shifts are longer so you change on the fly less. But by the time you are in the NHL, where matchups are so important, line changes happen fast an furious. If you don't do a simple thing like get the puck deep when you hear the call for a change but instead try to carry the puck and turn it over, that is when the entire thing breaks down. This happens to the Flyers a lot, in fact way too much for an NHL team IMO. |

A break for the Flyers that the Islander game is postponed, one less back to back this month! Need a regulation win today against the Devils to start turning this thing around. |
