I don't think anyone should be considered untouchable. - Reubenkincade
Maybe true, if I’m trading Petey I’m going to try and do it for Barzal Straight across. But with the way Pettersson has played this year I think NYI ask for our 1st rd pick this year as well... or they laugh and hang up the phone. |

Barzal is having a great year?
He's about .02 PPG more than Petey right now. 2 years older, contract up one year sooner.

I totally get that some fans don't want a full cleansing and have some favorites, but I just don't see most of this group being a big part of a team that can compete for a cup. I have said for sometime now that it is a bad mix of players, that is not helped by poor coaching and bad management. - Reubenkincade
I mean, I listed 7/8 players... that's barely one third of a roster. A good GM could sure as poop build a playoff roster with those players on it. Sure, maybe some of them don't gel the best, but getting rid of everyone is pretty stupid too. There's no guarantee any of the other picks are going to turn out as good, or the other players aren't going to have their own issues either. |

Just thought I would point out some pretty good players from last year draft, that the Canucks missed out on, whether it was because of Benning/Acquillini taking more shortcuts(picks were traded), as a result didn't have a pick, lack of creativity(trading down etc.)they were reaching for a high risk player, or just incompetency/not aware of team needs.
A lot of these players are defensemen, centres or big strong wingers.
Guenther, Sillinger, Othmann, Bolduc, Johnston, Ceulemans, Lambos, L'Heureux, Allan, Chayka, Pinelli, Roger, Raty, Iorio, Nause, Helenius, Dach, Winterton, Svozil, Korczak, Harrison, Bankier, Whynot, Schmidt, Richard, Del Mastro, Boyko, Matier, Bar and of course, they missed out on drafting Robert(Bobby) Orr.
I am sure I missed a few decent players, but I am sure most of you get the point.

You get to a point where you have drafted enough talent and need to add. Players aren't going to stick around for 7 years while you continue to build through the draft. Benning made moves to try and be competitive and show the current core it is their time. It didn't work out, and that is Bennings fault. Mostly for keeping Green around and also for not recognizing a locker room divide between Miller and Horvat, and trading one of them away in the off season. If he did recognize it and chose to ignore it, that is a new level of incompetence. |

yep with Marchand running around out there like a goof and not one Canuck confronted him on the slu foot on OEL. Miller was right there watched it happen. Unreal. |

I honestly don't expect any GM to come in and trade all the players, I just don't think any players on this team should be deemed untouchable. |

Sure, if you have drafted lots of talent, then by all means, you make a run for it by adding a couple players, but drafting 3 or 4 players and going all-in to make the playoffs will keep any team in a state of mediocrity, for many years. |

As I have said ad nauseum, this team needs a complete overhaul, just need to start at the top. Whoever is left standing by next seasons TDL, so be it, but whoever takes over, please get some guys who hit and provide some pushback.
This group is embarrassing. |

And JB would give it to them, if he's still allowed to make deals without permission.

That is almost as bad as some guy on a different site offering Kerfoot, Dermot and a 2nd for Miller. |

How about Strome + 2022 first and Tim Gettinger for Horvat ? Rangers get a solid 1A/B center, the Canucks get a solid C in Strome to replace Horvat, a first and a decent prospect. Thoughts?

Gretzky, Eichel, Bouquet, Coffey and many other pretty good players have been traded, but the Canucks, one of the worst teams over the past 5 years, have 5 or 6 untouchables.
