Sure, if you have drafted lots of talent, then by all means, you make a run for it by adding a couple players, but adding 3 or 4 players and going all-in to make the playoffs will keep any team in a state of mediocrity, for many years. - Reubenkincade
EP, Boeser, Horvat, Hoglander, Hughes, Podkolzin. Would have liked a little more defensive talent drafted, specifically a RHD, but that is some drafted talent.
IMO Benning failed and we have the assets and talent to truly retool this team, our core is young and no longer passed their prime like when Benning took over. |

That is almost as bad as some guy on a different site offering Kerfoot, Dermot and a 2nd for Miller. - Reubenkincade

If Braden Schneider is not part of the deal for Horvat, we shouldn't be interested. |

Maybe if Strome wasn't an UFA at the end of the season. He is a right shot centre that the Canucks could desperately use. He would probably want a bit of a raise and Horvat still has another year at 5.5.
I'd take a first but Gettinger isn't near enough. |

Gretzky, Eichel, Bouquet, Coffey and many other pretty good players have been traded, but the Canucks, one of the worst teams over the past 5 years, have 5 or 6 untouchables.
Lmfao - Reubenkincade
I don’t think anyone is saying some Canuck players are too good to trade. I think most are trying to salvage something from the last decade so it wasn’t a total and complete waste of time, money, and energy. You don’t spend 10 years rebuilding only to get to a point where you need to spend another 10 years rebuilding.

It's got some big holes.
Who would have thought that losing Beagle and Sutter would hurt this bad. |

I've never had a problem with Sutter when he was healthy.

I like Horvat, Hoglander and Podkolzin, they play hard every game, even Hughes has tightened up his game somewhat, Pouty and Boeser not so much. |

Agreed. 👍
Edit; he is another player that the Canucks would have had a shot at, if they wouldn't have traded for Miller. |

My problem with Sutter was how much he was getting paid. Green's usage of him and his black hole of offence.
In a 4th liner role that kills PK for 900K a year, playing 10 minutes a night I think I could get behind. |

Montreal has done what Vancouver should have done after 2011. It's absolutely unbelievable that Montreal has made drastic changes to their front office faster than Vancouver has. |

Well said.
I took some flack on some other sites for suggesting that, back then.
If I recall correctly, several people took some flack on this site for suggesting the same thing. |

You’ve missed his point, which is that no player is untouchable, not that every player is forsaken. |

At some point, we all have to accept that pro hockey is going soft. The days of the Broad Street bullies or Charlestown Chiefs are over. The league has done everything they can to eliminate toughness out of the game and replace it with finesse. |
