You know, if Quinn Hughes gets an assist next game, it’ll be his 100th assist in only his 150th game |

That’s what I’m saying genius, I’d like to have seen what Mike Gillis would’ve done with some top picks instead of continually picking 26-27-28-29-30. |

That's awesome, he is well on his way to being a playoff loser, just like Joe Thornton |

I’m thinking he might have had at least more than one defenceman on the team after eight drafts, but then again maybe not, drafting wasn’t really his thing.
Picked Horvat in 2013, great pick, reports are he would’ve taken Dylan Larkin in 2014, probably would’ve taken Travis Konecny in 2015 and Tkachuk in 2016….oh God, I’d better stop. He’s already better than Benning |

Lol.
You could do better than both of them, if you could draft in hindsight |

Edit, maybe not, you wanted Jake, Pouty and Hughes. |

Only 3 teams below the Canucks, another top 10 pick coming up. Hopefully Benning won't be making the choice, or we end up with another super soft player that will be good for 60 games and give the fans more false hope. |

NEEDS:
- #1 RHD
- 1C (preferably over 6' with the skill of Petey (but the heart of Horvat))
- At least 2 Top6 wingers (preferably RHW)
- 2 Top4 D-men
TRADE ASSETS:
Miller
Horvat
Boeser
Myers
Poolman
Schenn
Motte
Sutter
Chaisson
LIKELY RETURN FOR TRADE ASSETS:
At least 2 late 1st round picks, a 2nd and 3rd plus 2 Grade A prospects and/or cost controlled RFAs and cap savings.
This is predicated on the team firing JB/TG and hiring a competent President of Hockey Ops and a management team and coaching staff that are all in on the plan. Note I purposefully left QH and Petey off of the trade assets since you need something to keep fan interest and be prepared for the next core. |

Is that all?
I'd add that we need a couple bottom 6 C's as well that can win face offs and PK.
So a #1C, 2 top 6 wingers, 2 bottom C's a #1D and a couple more top 4 D.
That's a big ooof for any new GM.

Well JB always said it was a 2 year plan... It's just that a year for him is in dog years. - DariusKnight
He never once said which two years it would be. It could be 2028-2029
