Bunch of BS. I’m bilingual. English and Español. But when I’m in Quebec all they see me as is an albertan and show no respect to me either. Why do I need to speak a certain language to show or be respected? How about just treat everyone equally?

That's not cool that you're treated that way, but it's not really relevant to Hab fans wanting to have a french speaking GM for a franchise that is such a deep part of the province. I think for a storied team like the Habs being the GM isn't just a job, you're also representing the city. Kinda like a public official. I can totally get why speaking french is a requirement for the job in the province of Quebec.

yup, just look at Legault who wants to make a push to bring back the Nordiques, I don't mind if he tries since I'd really like that to happen (though I doubt his meetings with Buttman actually lead to anything) but he's doing it for the wrong reasons, as he thinks the team would be mainly composed of Quebecers, which is silly if you actually understand the landscape of today's NHL.

I've never understood why they feel the need to listen to them, but it is what it is. What it is is idiotic, but the only way to change it is an owner with some balls who isn't afraid of some short term heat.

Anyway, I'm over that, good (frank)ing riddens to the bicep brains club, hopefully they rebuild carefully because it is clear this team needs alot more than quick patchwork. The whole foundation needs replacement.

I think he does care, but he simply doesn't possess the competencies and hockey knowledge to be part of the organization's decision-making. the fact that he's created this new position is a sign he cares imho

bah, I agree I would remove the language prerequisites, but I've come to terms with it, it's not that big of a deal.
