As I mentioned, I think that is how he gets away with putting an inexperienced (French) GM in place to mitigate the chance of problems, while putting the guy he really wants in charge at the top and not dealing with the whole French thing.

to be honest though I wonder if there are any "exceptional" non-french-speaking candidates that are available that would unquestionably surpass the current french ones in terms of being a competent GM.

But regardless of the language issue, if you are gonna hire an inexperienced person as your GM, at least create an environment where they have a chance to succeed... So in that respect, if everything is going as reported, then it looks like Molson is doing the right thing.
