Fired a quarter year after his team made the cup final.

It’s like his fault his best D man and goalie can’t play this year.

I’ll be truly interested to see what that team starts to do now… sell off the talent and go for a top end pick?

He was reported to be on the verge of being fired before they went on that run in the playoffs last year. I think the Mailloux pick pissed a lot of people of as well.

Price and Weber missing aren’t the reason they stink. That run was never going to end well. They won despite being outplayed almost every night. If anything that run kept Bergy in a job an extra 6 months.

Typical habs fan drama

The pick was iffy I agree but to be fired in 20 games after your team made the finals is unfair imo. Watch the drama filled habs fans rip into Gorton if they don’t become awesome nearly right away lol

It was reported in the summer that berg wouldnt be back as gm.
Inevitable, specially with how bad they've been this year

Which means they win by having a top end D man and goalie.

The offence isn’t very strong so if you can’t keep the puck out of your net most of the time you become a losing squad quickly

As I just mentioned I’m looking forward to habs fans losing their poop to even a higher level if the team doesn’t start functioning well under the new GM Gorton lol

80 in the OC all through Thanksgiving and next week... we got a whack state govt. and taxes and traffic and .... The greatest weather ..

For only 1 of 2 times this yr I'll be rooting against the Leafs... unfortunately most of the crowd @ Ponda will be Leaf fans ..including all the knuckleheads with me...

Gonna need a huge game from Gibby... and if Ducks roll that same effort today like they did Friday against the Sens.. it's gonna be Fugly...

NO Turnovers in the middle of the ice or at Center Ice boys... Hard on the forecheck... tight D coverage. short sharp passes out of the D zone.. and skate skate skate... And most of all Trust in Gibby..

- dozerD10

NICE!!! Keep it 80 out there through Xmas dammit!!

So cannot wait to get out there! Lookin at the Oil vs Kings game while there myself. Course LOVE the Pond, gorgeous rink and love the tickets being bloody cheap too!

I don’t trust the drama filled habs reports tbh.

59 more drama filled games to go this year… let’s see how it goes lol

Hate to say it but it will get worse before better even with Gorton coming in and cleaning the front office up. Lot of unmovable contracts and not that much in the way of depth and younger talent coming up. All the injuries and guys out Price, Weber etc did not help and losing Danault up the middle seriously hurt there too.

Much as I hate Montreal them being a good strong competitive team is never a bad thing. Hoping they can get it turned around somehow there.

Owner turning the GM into a scapegoat for that pick?

No way that pick happens without talking to him first, right? I mean, it only makes sense.

The media were calling for his head, they go on a fluke run, then they vote for him to be gm of the year. Finished second I think.

Gorton isn’t the GM. They’re going to hire one. Bergevin’s contract was up at the end of the year. The team was bad at everything and they needed to make a change.

Maybe that’s why so much management will be released, fired, or steps down…. So they can get guys in place that will encourage players to give up NTC’s and NMC’s

Safe to say this year isn’t going to get any prettier tho

I have a deeply ingrained 60’s hate for the Habs. I absolutely love it when they get all dysfunctional.

I’ve read he may end up both president and GM for awhile. For instance before hiring someone else he’ll be making the calls for the next little bit at least.

That may well be. I think its definitely going to get uglier. The more worrisome thing is the whole must be french thing. Look I get it, you are Quebec's team but where has that gotten you all this time? They regurgitate the same coaches I mean Vineault, Julien etc have had what 3 runs each? Sorry but its a business and you need to run it like such and get it done. The whole OMG you aren't dressing a single french canadian? Hey guess what we win and get a Stanley Cup do you think the majority really are going to care? This isn't the original 6 era you got all the rights to players in Quebec here. Stop limiting the team and the potential success, and stop wasting draft picks at that too. That lady yelling what meme that pops up every draft says enough there

See I get that but lets face it, it IS more fun when they are a good team and competing. Makes the wins and battles more... intense and important I guess.

Switched over to the Minnesota vs Tampa game and I don’t know why I hate Tampa so much now just because of their shifty cap management but I hope Minnesota takes them down lol (currently 2-2 in the 3rd)

Been watching and Bogosian is killing them (Tampa). At this rate he might get a gold plate with his name on it put in the penalty box

The French thing might be coupled to the local hopes of getting the nordiques back right now. Wouldn’t be shocked at all tbh.

I miss his toughness a little but I don’t really miss him with the leafs tbh.
