You can’t blame any one person on this train wreck, they are all equally guilty. To me it looks like there is a serious lack of each player taking personal ownership of their poor individual play. There is enough skill on this team to win games but for some reason they are willing to accept an effort that is less than what is needed to win. How is this to be fixed - I don’t know. That’s what a GM is for, but I don’t expect anyone to be fired.

Bro, things like this happen every single game. Sometimes due to an extended shift or a partner getting caught out on the ice, a defenseman has to play a shift or two with another partner. The pairings were not changed up. Provorov and Ristolainen played 1:10 of ice time with each other in the game.

But at that critical moment, they clearly were not in sync. Risto makes a decent cross ice pass probably thinking that is where Provey would be, and it appeared Provey was not ready for it and tried to compensate but was too late to the party. This to me points to lack of chemistry between the partners, exactly what you don't want to have happen in a critical point in the game. Then soon after Provey is out there with Yandle and the next disaster occurs.

I thought it about this last night, given the schedule and division they play in, if the Flyers are not in contention to make the playoffs by January 2022, I say CF has got to make G, JVR, Sanheim, Brassard, Braun and Yandle all available at the deadline. Then in the off season he must entertain offers for TK. The 2022 draft is a strong one compared to the 2021 draft and with these trades the Flyers can probably get another 1st round pick and recoup their 2nd round pick, plus add lower draft picks. This should give CF flexibility to maneuver up and down the board and get the players he wants. Then next year, I go in with Frost, York, Zamula, Allison, Foerster and one of our 3 goalies in the system. You have plenty of veteran leadership still on the team and augment with additional FAs signed or player(s) you get back in the TK trade. I really want to start over here and build around Hart, Ellis, Couts and Bee. Also depending on how the season goes, you replace AV and his staff! We need to start fresh start here, I'm really sick and tired of watching this trash game in and game out, its embarrassing!

I'm guessing a lot here but I think there was a study done that like 98% of the playoff spots are determined by around Thanksgiving. Flyers have won 7 out of 20 games in regulation.

True, we don't want to admit it but Provey is not a top pairing defenseman, at least he is not playing like one this year, nor last year.

Well, I will tell you this. Last two games we have given up 6 and 5 with an ENG. The goalies are starting to suffer I think and if they get into a rut, boy are we in trouble.

Most importantly though, I don't think we're going to be able to weather the storm without Ellis here. We drop another 4 games and we're probably sunk in this crazy division. Not sure what the answers are here. The goals we are getting are by luck or individual plays. The pp is taking momentum away and we can barely enter the other zone so they've resorted to only carrying it in as they cant connect two passes. Dear god.

In my opinion he knows that he has to at least try and deflect it out to center. If it hits the boards there, he knows it's coming out into the zone.

The pass was in front of Provey no doubt, but Provey made a bad play there. Instead of reaching for the puck, he should just played the puck off the boards and make the simple play and flip it out. Instead he reaches for it, gets off balance and lets the Devil forwards take it and walk right in. Honestly Risto was rushed to make the pass by the on coming forechecker but Provey played that like a rookie!
