Agreed. The only way Risto and any other players on the bubble are moved is if they change the GM.
Didn't think the offseason changes would ultimately work to the degree they were hoping, but the results are much worse then expected. Injuries can be used as a reason again, but the fact remains that this season will be lost by the time Hayes and Ellis are ready to contribute. By that time our goalies will be burned out from non stop high percentage looks. In the end, nothing will have changed from the reasons they cleaned house with the Fletcher hiring.
Bill Zito, the GM Florida hired, was available the same time Fletcher was. But Holmgren advised a culture fit. I have no doubt everyone gets along wonderfully in the organization with Hextall gone, but it's not winning (Florida is...). We're going to find out how much they care about going back to being a winning organization in the coming weeks.

With Holmgren and Scott still ultimately in charge, they're just going to make more moves. Trade more youth in a futile attempt to win now. At least there is a salary cap leash in effect.
