Sullivan with line changes. I like it. Don't know how much we're going to learn though. Pens third game in four nights, heavy travel vs. a rested Flames teams.

Oh yea haha. I'm glad that Stafford might actually get a chance to win something in LA

Stafford chokes in big games. LA has learned that the last 3 games.

I went to training camp the year he said (frank) it and retired. What a poop show.

I never understood if he was retiring because of the hapless team or because he was done getting beaten up. One of the best players I have ever seen. Insane talent.

I feel like every time the puck goes into the Flames zone it’s a dump for a line change.

Jarry stole that point. Let's get a second undeserved one.

Sanders carried them for the ten years he played. Possibly the best running back ever, definitely the best when he played. Yes, better than Emmitt Smith. Smith had an O-line.

Damn Vic. Brian Kelly just said (frank) it and left.
- Feds91Stammer

Funny how I’ve been waiting for this moment since about 2013 and now that it’s finally come I’m kinda pissed. Over the past three or so years Kelly finally realized that it’s not that hard to recruit at Notre Dame and had really fixed his staffing issues. Program finally looked like it was heading in the right direction with us still in the playoff conversation in a rebuild year. Second his stock raises above guy you call in for an interview to use as leverage over the guy you actually want level, he jumps.

So you know what, (frank) him. In his decade plus tenure he didn’t win one single major bowl and only covered the spread on one. It took our President getting directly involved in football after the 2016 debacle to get him to stop hiring his cronies from Grand Valley State. And when he left, he did it in the exact same way that he left Cincinnati and Central Michigan. Kelly never changed, he just acquiesced to basic demands of an administration that basically forced him ass backwards into being competent in a job where it’s truly not that hard to win. Not nearly as hard as he’s female doged and complained about in interviews where he has money quotes like “winning is hard” and “our academic standards make it unrealistic to be a top 10 recruiting class year in and year out.”

So the more separated i am from the shock of it all, the happier I’m getting. Our program is stable and healthy recruiting is getting real close to where it needs to be to actually contend. Having Kelly leave on his own now and getting fresh blood with more upside to build off of this foundation instead of letting Kelly coach until he’s 70 and peeter away what we’ve built since 2017 is a good move for us. Unfortunately our AD is a schmuck and it sounds like promoting Marcus Freeman is a done deal already, so this may all be pointless due to a bad follow up hire, but at least there is hope we can actually come out better from this, and even Freeman isn’t without upside

I wanted Campbell to get the lions job but they got the wrong one.
- Feds91Stammer

Matt Campbell is the most overrated commodity in the coaching carousel and he will flop if he ever leaves Ames. He should be the next in the Snyder/Patterson line and just be a lifer at a historically garbage program as the best coach they’ve ever/will have and continue to overproduce by Iowa State standards. The second he moves on his career will be shot.

OJ too. Before my time. Richarderson was great. But yeah, nobody like Sanders. Best I ever saw. I guess you can't type D!ckerson.

Emmit Smith was great, but his Oline was incredible most of his career.

Exactly we didn't deserve the point we got against a very tough team on the road so I'll take it.

D'ckerson was a beast.

Simpson was in decline when I first got interested in football. I recall his 2000 yard year but I was still fairly young. IIRC he had a 250 yard game in a snow storm that season. Buffalo's team may have been worse than Detroit's, if you can believe that.

Jim Brown is easily #2 for me. After that the Sayers, Sweetness, ED, Bo, Emmitt, LT, and OJ stuff is a more wide open debate.

No but you should probably strive to hire an NFL caliber head coach for your next hire

All good backs. The Steelers have three in the HOF, Franco Harris, Jerome Bettis, and an old timer named John Henry Johnson. None would be considered in top ten rankings.

The top back locally would have to Tony Dorsett. I have some friends who played against him and their stories are funny. Basically they found themselves one on one with him and couldn't even get a hand on him.

At one time back in the day, we had the top college scorers in football and basketball. Dorsett from Aliquippa/Pitt and Pistol Pete Maravich from Hopewell/LSU.

Adrian Peterson was an absolute animal in his prime too. I feel like he should be in the conversation.
