I don't agree with this statement, before that comical play the Flyers had all the momentum and looked poised to win the game. That play obviously turned it around in a hurry, but up to that point, the Flyers had battled back to tie the game, killed two penalties and had momentum from their PP, things were going their way until ...

Yea just ignore the meltdown as a part of determining if they deserved to win the game.

Canucks and Flyers would make interesting trade partners. A number of similarly-priced/aged/talented players to swap.

Yes lets keep the 2015 Rangers reunion going and get JT Miller!

Ahhh. Now we see the agenda. It’s about being right about player analysis as opposed to actually just watching a player and objectively providing an opinion. You don’t like trades. We get it. You don’t like the Ellis n Risto trades cause you wanted Myers to be here forever. We get it. You did not like Brassard cause you wanted Frost to be here from day one. We get it. Thompson was going to take Frosts job. We get it. You want rebuild and do so for the next 12 years. We get it.

Can’t ya just watch a game and then say this guy sucked or this guy was great and be done with it? What’s with this agenda to prove yourself right on a hockey trade which may by the way may take years to materialize?

Wouldn’t you rather be wrong about a trade and see your team win then be right and watch them lose?

He didn't have to reach out and lunge for the puck!! That is what you are not getting and the reason you are getting it is because you have never played even 1 minute of a real hockey game. As a poster stated, that is played in a beer league than what Provey did there. But that was not the only Provey mistake of the night. He turned the puck over multiple times in the 1st period and got beat to the outside on the 4th Devil's goal also, so if you were truly unbiased you be railing on Provey today!
- jd250

Yes, he did have to reach out and lunge for the puck because it was too far ahead of him. We can discuss Provorov any time you want. You don't seem to understand that if the subject of a player is brought up, then that's where the conversation will go.

Giroux to the Rangers at the trade deadline makes ton of sense. They will be looking for some center depth and a premier face off guy for their playoff run and Giroux wouldnt have to move. Could play 12 minutes or so at center for them. ...maybe can get their 1st and possibly Kravtsov though not sure they would give up both.
- hfc355

Why would the Flyers ever trade G within their own division at the trade deadline? If he does get traded which I would be fine with, it will be to a contending team out west.

No Joe, you clearly don't get it. You clearly have no idea what my agenda is. I don't actually have one.

And you don't seem to understand how to play ice hockey. I know with certainty that puck would have bounced off the boards and then handled by Provey. The worst case scenario would have been it bounced to the Devil forward, BUT even then Provey would have had the play in front of him and been able to defend it. What he did there instead was unfortunately a bad decision, just like it turned out to be a bad decision for Risto to pass the puck over there in the first place. But think about it from AVs perspective, I've got two of my best defenseman out there and they can't even make a simple cross ice pass. That is the problem he somehow has to solve!

Do you actually read what I post? I said UP TO THE TURNOVER, the Flyers did deserve to win and were in position to win! Obviously after that turnover it all went to crap!

You state that I don't seem to understand how to play ice hockey. You then state that you know something with certainty that anyone who has ever played or watched hockey knows that you couldn't possibly know that. That's your issue. You keep throwing out hanging curve balls over the plate. It's not even in a game, it's batting practice for me. I just keep hitting them out of the park. You don't even realize how badly you just exposed yourself. It's really a shame. It makes me feel almost guilty to continue.

LOL, yes I did read it. That's your problem. Do you think Tomahawk was talking about part of the game or all of it?

Flyers played great. Well except for the parts they didn't. LMAO.

Why you ask?? Because Giroux has a NTC and can choose where he wants to go. Highly unlikely he would move away from his family and go out West a few months. Likely would only go to a East Coast contender and Rags would make perfect sense

Doing it the old fashioned way just means making the kids do it.

I don't understand. Why would people continue having kids then after the dishwasher was invented?

Fedotov is basically Niko Hovinen. Late bloomer in Europe. Huge frame. Lot of moving parts. Gaudy stats over there. He's still basically a split-time starter -- and the other CSKA goalie is having a strong season, too. Has never been a Russian national team selection for any major tournament. The KHL in general is a pretty low-scoring league, although he's faring particularly well. He's 25, so it's not too late for him to come over but I wouldn't expect it. He did, however, attend one Flyers development camp some years ago.

I do think Fedotov competes harder than Hovinen did, so that helps.

Fletcher isn't going to deviate from his plan after 20 games. The first shoe to drop will be a coaching change should this slide continue. The Risto extension is a foregone conclusion. Otherwise the GM would have to admit his blunder and we all know that is not going to happen.

The Flyers have all their draft picks yet for 2022 and 2023, minus their second rounders. Plenty of ammunition for Fletcher to load the team up for its cup run this season.

How many coaches can a gm fire? At some point the firing squad turns inward, no?

Most likely AV will get the season to see what happens. I personally feel that is a mistake. A lost season sets you back and that would make two in a row if this continues. It's one thing to be missing a couple players and have it affect the team. It's completely another thing to have the entire team in dysfunction which is no different from last year. Even a player like Couturier is floundering.

The coach won’t get fired until the yearly closed door meeting occurs. The team leaders will sit everyone down and be super cereal this time.
