Totally agree. Its deja vu all over again.
I am surmising that Chipman has a great deal of influence tying Chevys hands on certain decisions like this. 7 losses in a row last year, a sweep by Montreal where PoMo was simply outcoached, mediocre play this year, and the similarities from Carolina to today, I am sold on ENTIRE new coaching staff. |

It seems to me that Chipman and Chevy must be in agreement with Maurice's love of veteran players. Otherwise they wouldn't be signing players like Riley Nash.

There is a fine line between persistence and 'doing the same thing and expecting a different result'.
Coach is digging in and doubling down on what he thinks should work. Isn't that how it goes? that when someone is failing and flailing they do increasingly more of what is causing them to fail and flail somehow thinking it will save them.

Don't agree with the re-uniting of Connor-Scheif-Wheeler - but can understand it. The Jets have had success scoring in the past going this route.
Actually like the Copp-PLD-Svechnikov line - they looked good the last game. Two goals for Svech tonight?
Thought Jansen Harkins was really flying last game in very limited minutes. If Harkins keeps the effort up he may be moved up (with an injury) or possibly used as trade bait.
Kristian Vesalainen, as others have stated before, is another who deserves to be moved up. Sitting Bealieu and Nash is the right way to go IMO. Actually waive Nash and recall Gustafsson.
Our d has got far more points this season than in previous ones. Still I would like Maurice to take the reigns off more often - and activate the d even more. JoMo would be that guy.
So Jets back on Sportsnet's "Home Town Hockey" again! How do we get away from that? Last time was a disaster! Z-z-z-z! Where in the hell is Dennis Beyak?
Time for Scheif and Wheeler to put some points on the board - Ehlers will be flying!
Expecting it to be all Jets tonight! What, 5-1 Jets? - grahamzky
I agree with everything minus Ves. The guy is terrible. Honestly, if he was drafted in the 4th round, nobody would want him around. But because he was a 1st, he keeps getting inserted into the lineup. He played top line and 1st PP, but played as tho he was a fringe top 6 with the Moose. Gus is far better. Gus doubled his ppg in the AHL, and is a far better skater with a ton of experience at C, and wins a ton of draws. No idea why Ves gets in the lineup before Gus. I'd kick out Ves and Nash, and bring in Gus and Perfetti if I were trying to make the strongest possible lineup in a must-win.

Beyak is fantastic. Heard he was retiring after this season which is selfishly terrible for me. Watching the broadcasts coming out of the US, it makes complete sense why the NHL is getting pumbled in the ratings vs MLB and NBA. It is horrible. If the NHL could showcase more TSN3 quality broadcasts in the US, the sport would grow for sure. Not joking, TSN > Sportsnet |

I have family living in NYC and they watch most of the Jets games on their cable package. They tell me that Beyak-Sawyer are far and away the best commentators that they get to see/hear for the Jets games. Quite often they get the visiting team's tv feed, so they do get exposed to a range of broadcasters.

Too funny, now Gus is a good skater and you like him, guess he fixed those skating mechanics to your liking.. Lol |

While these lines may not last long together, I would give them not more than two games to strut their stuff.
If there is limited production, we go back to what brought us success early on on the top three kines (and park the egos at the door):
Stastny-Copp-Ehlers
Connor-PLD-Svechnikov
Lowry-Scgheif-Wheeler
Learn the lesson: "Don't mess with success!" PLD plays better - and harder - with Connor and Svech!
and I would like the 4th line of Harkins-Gustafsson-Vesalainen. Harkins play recently, in limited minutes) has been screaming "I'm ready to move up the line-up." Will it happen? Probably not! Waive Nash! |

I tend to mute the broadcast most of the time.
Beyak tends to lose track of players and assign names at random. He also has like 5 phrases he repeats constantly.
Sawyer is a blatant True North shill who seems to go out of his way to compliment players on plays they absolutely butchered. His personal stories are hilarious though |

Didn't know Beyak was retiring either. He will be sorely missed!
Hopefully Paul Edmunds, the radio announcer, will take over. He has pinch hit for Dennis in the past and done a great job. |

If the Jets lose tonight, we can blame Daniel Greaves, the anthem singer, because he is not Stacy Nattrass. It seems like we are blaming commentators, arena staff and possibly even mascots for our losses. |

I like Beyak and Sawyer, but Beyak does re-assign names at random, which is OK, I guess. He is passionate and does a good job.
Same with Sawyer, they make a good combo. But, I will be an outlier here and say that Sawyer with his "advanced" hockey terminlogy loses the average person in the process using phraes such as:
hi ice, low ice, strong side, weak side, half baords, half wall, etc, etc.
The hockey gurus on this board know what he is talking about but the average person,..... male / female that didn't grow up playing the game, doesn't understand what the heck he is saying.
Therefore, he is preaching to the choir but not much opportunity to attract or grow new listeners because the new listener watching, doesn't understand what the hell he is saying. A bit of a old boys braodcaster.
I beleive this is one of the main reasons you see women like Leah Hextall cutting their teeth as they will be appealing to a different or new listener rather than the old boys club / choir. |

I doubt he'd want to return or that Chevy would want to bring him back but why, to play him on the 4th line?
I think Roslo's a better player then the season he's having but Maurice doesn't like him and there's probably not a coaching change coming so what'd be the point in bringing back a guy that the coach is gonna play 6-8 minutes(and sometimes less than that) a night on the 4th line. |
