I honestly can't really get behind any of it. His stuff is like to broccoli casserole of rock music. It doesn't pain me to hear it like abba or the biebs but it's not good either.

Realistically, and honestly, the Habs were very fortunate to beat the Leafs even without Tavares. Game 1 and Game 7 were probably the only two games that the Habs outplayed the Leafs. If Tavares isn't injured in Game 1, it could very well have been a sweep. In fact it wasn't until game 5 that Carey Price woke up, which was really the confidence builder they needed.
By the time they met the Jets, though, the Habs had started to develop a noticeable confidence and a swagger. They thoroughly dominated the Jets, who are, by most accounts, a better team. They also mostly outplayed the Golden Knights which was a surprise. I remember watching the Habs in the final game of that series and thinking that the team that was playing the Knights was not the same team that the Leafs had played at all. They had extreme physicality, real speed with and without the puck, a hunger, a desire, and that intangible confidence teams get when you know you can win.
Being completely honest, in an isolated snapshot, that team that played the Golden Knights was playing like a great team.

Conversely, the VGK team that played MTL was not running on all cylinders like they did against the Avs. It was actually pretty shocking how poorly they played after the grit, grind, and hustle they employed against COL.
And, again, not going back to a hot goalie (Lehner) who had just bailed you out the previous game was (frank)ing stupid.
Anyway, I'm done reliving last year's playoffs. I'm much more interested in talking about the Leafs can find a new way to falter in the first round this year.

Some luck yes. It's part of the game.
Some could argue the Leafs were lucky to score some of the goals they did last summer because it bounced on 2 pads before going in, it's part of the game.
But no team makes it to the SCF on luck alone. And luck usually goes both ways.

Agreed. Best they've ever played. Hell it surprised me because I didn't feel confident after game 1 vs Vegas.
Too bad they couldn't repeat that performance against Tampa.

Only one that counts was gooning JT accidently on purpose with no penalty, no suspension, not even a mild slap on the wrist. I can't remember did one of the Habs get a $10K fine for a cross-check that resulted in 4 broken vertibrae? Playoff hockey

I like broccoli casserole.
But yeah I have no time for Abba or biebs or any of that poop. The other one I don’t get at all is Adele. Shrill voice like nails on a chalkboard.
