Refreshing.....The Sens should take notice of the Flyers and how they operate! GM Fletcher held a "state of the union" presser last minute today, talking about how they've faltered lately, what they need to do, direction, talked about top prospects in the AHL, wow, what a concept! Eugene and Pierre..crickets! Talk of how they have a product to sell to the fans and they need to know the direction to keep them engaged, etc....hmmm......... - Kevin Francis
I was coming here to post this and you beat me to it. Fans deserve to have someone speak to them instead of silence. Great move by Philly. I believe the Rangers did a similar announcement a couple of years ago.
I'm tired of Dorion (likely told from Melnyk) creating false narratives when he speaks to the media. Crap about "greatest moves" when you trade away a Mark Stone in his prime and the "rebuild is over" when your team hasn't even played a game after the "last big draft".
People respect accountability. People respect honesty. Stop telling us lies. We aren't 5 year old children (the fans that are, don't care about the stuff we care about). We can take it. Admit you have made mistakes. Own up to it. You'd be surprised how much people will forgive and forget. The silence now, just seems cowardly. |

Great minds think alike!
Vancouver did it a few weeks ago too. When teams expectations are falling way short again, like what's happening in Vancouver and Philly two years in a row, they are accountable. they said, they have a product to sell and the consumers buying that product need to know where their money is going and the direction!

Exactly.
Part of me is just waiting for Melnyk to come out and blame fans for not attending games, yet again. Put the teams shortcomings on the fans and threaten to move the team, again. |

I think if he did that again, Bettman would step in. Fans don't realize how fast Bettman and Daly went after Melnyk for damage control on his comments 4 years ago.

I remember Elliot Friedman chatting to that. Always hoped it made him wake up but here we are. |

What are they going to pay a guy that can actually score? Makes the Ktachuk contract look like a steal! |

Again, tell the fanbase the direction, be accountable....silence creates more issues....then they wonder why ticket sales suck....

I have difficulty imagining Melnyk or Dorion, or Smith for that matter, doing anything that makes any kind of sense.
A bright future for the franchise seems as clear as day until I look at the hockey equivalent of Larry, Curly and Moe running the show. |

Which is why the fan base as so thrilled to hear McGuire was hired, but nothing has changed!

On a different note, former Sen Max Lajoie is playing his first game of the season for Carolina. Covid outbreak on the Canes blueline with 3 starter out! |

Happy to man-up proactively, and acknowledge with due credit that Logan Brown played up with the Blues last night, and scored a goal. Of course, he did play less than 8min in the game, and didn't take a single faceoff (i.e. not exactly playing C to the full NHL definition)... and there's always the lingering dagger of injury with that guy... but good for him for making his mark when the call-up opportunity presented itself.
In other news, Ben Roger was traded from London to Kingston (where Leevi Merilainen is also playing), in exchange for OHL draft picks. His size/mobility was once again cited in the article about the trade, as was the fact that he wore an 'A' in London... so it's possible he may develop into a decent 3rd pairing-type shutdown D-man.

Good for Brown. I hope he has success in his career down the road. Same with Roger. |

Brown played RW and played very well even Berube mentioned it in post game scrum. The play by play guy also mentioned that the plan for Brown was for him to play 1/2 season in Springfield then bring him up but with injuries they had no choice. |

I love B. Tkachuk's physical game, but he needs to find the line between physical and sitting in the penalty box 4-10 min a night. He has an offensive game the Sens need more then being the team's enforcer. Plus, it would help out my fantasy team... |

LA claimes Wolanin off waivers from Buffalo, I guess they didn't like losing him originally on waivers to Buffalo. |

There is no doubt he needs to be on the ice more. But then if he isn't physically involved getting in people's faces, etc...then he isn't engaged, so its a hard line. |

Maybe we can make a sacrifice to the hockey gods to land BOTH Wright and Bédard. Just 19 months left of being terrible.
2023-24
Tkachuk Wright Batherson
Stützle Bedard Pinto
Formenton Norris Sokolov
Ostapchuk Greig Boucher
Chabot Zub
Sanderson Thomson
Kleven Bernard-Docker
Gustavsson
Søgaard

I believe so. Totally transformed hockey player. Seems to thrive in St Louis system. Lots of structure and puck movement. |

Saw on the news tonight that both the Sens and NCC are interested in reopening LeBretton talks. Not sure anyone has interest or patience for another round of that circus without new owersheip coming into play. |

NCC knows a Arena at Lebreton would be a huge boom for the area economically and would make crap tons of money for who ever owns the arena, problem is, melnyk cannot afford to build a shed yet alone a billion dollar arena. So he needs partners and no one is foolish enough to partner with him anymore and fat chance the city will pay to build the arena and let melnyk keep the arena revenue. |

I wouldn’t even partner with him to open a frickin lemonade stand.
He’d probably steal nickels every time I have my back to him. |
