His first year was a 0. My hope is in the people he's hired.

Hope is in the front office team he's assembled, absolutely.

For the record, 3 years ago I wanted to see if we could trade 26 for Malkin.

Yeah this 7-4 crap can't keep happening. They need to go and get a goalie last week at this point.

I suddenly am seeing the most exciting Sabres team of the past 15 years and we have shooter-tutors in net.

It ain't right.

And 3 years ago that still would have been an awful trade

Murray: 4gp; 1g, 2a, 3p, +1, 25% shooting.

Hayden: 18gp; 0g, 1a, 1p, -4, 0% shooting.

Why do you draft and develop a guy like Murray and then sign a bum like Hayden and somehow justify him having a roster spot out of training camp while the gigantic dude you drafted is buried in the AHL at 23 years old?

Thank god for injuries, seriously, because this guy could have still been sitting down in Rochester with his thumb up his ass while Caggiula, Eakin, Hinostroza carve out NHL careers on the 4th line of the worst teams in the league because the NHL is a good 'ol boy's club.

Just watched that second Kraken goal.

Buy Dahlin a Space X ticket and send him to (frank)ing Mars. Woof.

What a lazy, unmotivated joke of a hockey player this kid is right now. He have (frank)ing mono or something? This is getting old. I already said he's the laziest player I've ever seen at the NHL level, and that's due in part to the immense talent he has.

All that talent worked against 15 year old kids, when you could skate circles around them and fling it at the net and score, but when you actually have to friggin' work for once, well, he's going on 4 years now of it and .

He has no work ethic. No sense of urgency. He looks lackadaisical and uninterested in the game. He's talented still, so it shows up on the score sheet, but I'm seeing too much Thomas Kaberle and not enough Viktor Hedman.

For which team? The Pens, obviously. Of course, I never thought it would happen, but Dahlin should have been shopped before the cat was out of the bag. Now, you couldn't get a top 6 forward for 26.

At no point could Dahlin for Malkin have been worth it unless Malkin was 10 years younger and no way any team, let alone Pittsburgh, trades a 25 year old Malkin for a 21 year old Dahlin.

Trading a 21 year old Dahlin for a 35 year old Malkin has to be the most asinine thing suggested on here since "move Dahlin to center".

He is infuriating to watch, his body language sucks, and he doesn't look dominant at any point. But he is smooth and natural with the puck and he was influenced by Eichel and Reinhart and Ristolainen's selfish example.

To me, this season unfortunately is a "Wash the stank off Dahlin" year. Okposo is a much better guy to look up to, Girgensons has been here since the asteroid killed the dinosaurs, and Granato is the right guy to have behind the bench.

Power should be here next year. Healthy Tuch, an NHL goalie, it sucks but at this point it's all about next year. If he looks unmotivated and ornery at this point next year, you have to realistically consider shipping him out.

But not for a 35 year old, injury prone Malkin.

I see you saying the bolded all the time.

What does it mean? How are they further ahead? Because they scored 4 goals against an expansion team while giving up 7? Because they beat a horrendous Montreal team?

- kingcong39

Because as a young team those players are improving and growing. Do pieces to the puzzle still need to be added YES. If you actually gave this team a decent goalie and a RD, they actually might make a push. And they don't quit and roll over and the 1st sign of trouble.

Ya, Kong is speaking from a Team and Results perspective.
I believe you are speaking from a Development perspective, especially around the younger guys...but applies to Girgs, Okposo, Olofsson and Skinner as well.

You're both correct, just speaking of different sides of the coin.

I didn't watch the game last night, so this has little to do with reaction to the game.

I am concerned about Dahlin, as are a significant portion of posters on here. I am to the point of really wondering if the Sabres should be thinking if trading him. Most of this has to do with the pipeline of LhD's coming up in Power, Johnson, Samuelson as well as the play of Bryson as a young player.

I hear and consider the merit of his age and the longer development time needed for Dmen. On the other hand, after 3 seasons of play, we should expect to see improved competence at the Dgame, but that really hasn't been revealed. He continues to look very lost. Furthermore, he has zero confidence in his game. I'm not sure his Hockey IQ is even average at this point.

He really is hurting this team Defensively, I would have hoped to see more than a 4-5 Dman by now, and that might be generous.

I say flip him to the right side and pair him with Samuelsson next year. If Power looks good and Dahlin doesn't show any significant improvement trade him in the '23 off-season.

Why have they not put RD in the press box or better yet, sent to Rochester for a bit?

I'd say! Wow.

Lincoln Riley USC contract details (not confirmed; best I could do):
- $110 million
- USC buying both his homes in Norman for $500,000 over asking ($1 million bonus)
- Buying a $6 million home in LA for him
- Unlimited use of the private jet 24/7 for family
