winning faceoffs is the most over rated part of being a 2C-- he doesnt have to take important draws. he is not a perfect player but more than makes up for that deficiency in many other way including leadership.
sometimes you dont know what you got til its gone - Greschnergy#4
It wouldn’t be such a big deal if we didn’t have anyone over 50% that could take an important faceoff we have been bad on draws forever.
I get it tho. He has changed my mind about him. But long term he is a lil risky investment. |

Where is Ranger948573563?
I would love to trade for Jt Miller- Send Krav and our 1st. He can flex RW and Center and has plenty of grit

I could get on board with getting him which is ironic because I couldn’t stand him previously lol. (Lazy penalties) But he’d become a pt machine here, and he does win faceoffs
Thats the one trade that blew up in Gortons face. He was batting 1.000 before and after it tho. (He is gonna get paid again in two years tho)
Krav and our 1st is quite tempting tho. JT is our 2C and that allows them to let Strome walk. |

Please explain to me how Strome is not a bonafide 2C? - Greschnergy#4
His production absolutely warrants his role but the team would benefit from a faceoff guy that could also play in the middle six. If that pushes Strome to the wing but keeps him with Panarin I think that is a win win. |

His salary for next year means definitely no Strome |

Puts some pressure on strome to be reasonable in term and dollars. JT is also a good penalty killer

When he’a not in the box haha. He’s really developed into a very good player. It’s a shame they let him go looking back on it
Canucks are starting to make a move in the shadings, and he seems like a fixture on that team. I doubt he gets traded. Horvat maybe. Either or tho. Petterson too. They’re loaded at center |

I have been reading a lot of speculation that they will move JT.

First off, i know you love me so i am thrilled to be replying to your post
Let's play out a trade for JT Miller
Players on our current roster without NMC:
Strome
Goodrow (modified NTC)
Chytil
Kakko (no)
Laf (no)
Gauthier
Hunt
Rooney
Lindgren
Nemeth (modified NTC)
K'Andre (no)
Lundkvist (unlikely)
Tinordi
Hajek
Georgi
Who do we include from our current roster (assuming they want a roster player in addition to a pick/prospect) that would move the needle on that trade? You can rule out Hunt, Rooney, Tinordi, Hajek, Georgi as players they wouldn't want/need.
Not saying we can't/won't make that trade but i'm trying to figure out what that might look like. Maybe they don't want a roster player at all. If that's the case, who gets bumped out of our lineup to make room? Hunt and Rooney look like the only 2 forwards that may fit the bill |

A rental or sign him and not Strome. - my proposal is Karv and a 1st

Second - picklerick
How about this crazy (frank)ing idea:
We stop trying to trade all our players and just keep winning!!!!!
WTF is wrong with all you guys??? We are a 97% complete team. How many 100% complete teams are there in this league? One? Maybe?

that seems like a hefty price, but maybe that's what it costs. Still begs the question of who we bump out of the lineup. Obviously JT is an upgrade over Rooney and Hunt but it seems weird to have either of them as an extra forward at this point |

additional depth is not a problem- There will be injuries so you wont have to think about who falls out of the line up, rotate until that occurs
Vancouver is about to enter a rebuild- I doubt they would want a roster player. if they do then there isnt a deal to be had

i'm not arguing for or against the trade. just going based off the fact that we are currently being tied to JT Miller in a trade scenario and ruminating on what that might look like - picklerick

I mean Kravstov is right there. It's the one team where any trade like that might not have to include Chytil.
Kravs, Jones, and a pic sure would be a good start.

Again, that seems like A LOT for a rental to me but maybe i'm just being biased as a fan and have unreasonable expectations[/img] |

Don't get me wrong, I for the most part agree with your post. I just always maintained our window is wide open now. I'm not a proponent of making moves for the sake of doing so, but all the successful teams in this league are agressive and ahead of the curve in trying to shape their roster.

Not a stretch run rental, since Miller is signed for next year. But giving up Jones will hurt |
