Turnovers are going to happen and it's a bad play but again, two forwards flying out of the zone. Laughton could've made a better effort after the turnover. - MJL
Sure turnovers are going to happen, but this team has a habit of making serious passing blunders, often, and every player on the team guilty. |

Only saw the last several minutes of the game, was the entire game this brutal? Did Risto cost the Flyers another game? Look at the bright side, one more step towards a rebuild. How did Hayes look tonight? From what I saw, he was as slow and lumbering as ever - jd250

The Flyers looked like they took a good amount of shots from the prime areas of the ice and only a few from the points, so that is an improvement. But as I watched the highlights, I noticed how the Rangers PP moved the puck back and forth quickly and got the PKs moving, thus that one timer from Trouba was successful. The Flyers PP, at least from what I saw was stagnant. But the big play of the game was Laughton's brutal turnover that lead to the Rangers 3rd goal. A competent NHL player should never make a play like this. It was as bad as Thompsons' give away against the Canes. It changed the complete complexion of the game, and when you are a fragile team its a killer! - jd250

3 days before the next game Chuck. Now is the time. - MJL
I thought he kept saying 5 in 7 at the press conference? Did he think the game against the isles was still on last night? |

He did and I believe he will do it again in Montreal. He knows what he is doing that is for sure. |

Its really a head scratcher. These are what I have always thought to be good experienced players making really bad plays in their own zone that are just killing this team. Laughton tonight, Risto and Provey against NJ and Thompson against the Canes. These players know better to be this careless in their own zone. Its almost like they are trying to lose, because its really hard to be a professional player and make plays this bad. - jd250
There is not a single element of their game that is good right now. The have TB, Colorado, NJ and Vegas coming up. Their season could literally be over next week. 3 days off. Time to fire the coaching staff. |

There is still plenty of season left, but I don't see the same team with the same coaching staff going forward and expecting a different result. |

Time to fire Scott and Comcast. Fletcher/AV are just symptoms |

Shouldn't expect to win against good teams. Just need to get Ellis and Hayes back. If they had a PP shooter which they haven't had since 2014, they might have won. They defended well. We wanted to improve on the previous game. It starts with me. There is nothing easy about this.

You're trying so hard to base the difference on scoring chances when there are so many other variables at play. It's really not as simple as you're trying to make it out to be. - Tomahawk
I am not trying hard to do anything, except root for a bottom 5 finish. I am engaging in casual conjecturalism, and that is the biggest conjecture I could find to hang my hat on. Still a conjecture.
It does make much more sense to me than your Kreider reverse-woody though. His sh% this year 5-on-5 is a little over 15%, last year it was a little over 14%. So, as far as 5-on-5 explanations go (which is what I was looking at anyway), he is not relevant. |

I can't argue with any of this, this team is indefensible right now. But even with a new coaching staff, this team does not have what it takes, but maybe at least they can play a more disciplined game and actually look competent out there. Right now its starting to look as brutal and comical as it was last year. |

But Fletcher and AV are just symptoms don’t you think. This is rotten to the core. |

They don't have what it takes. Which is why the GM should resign. Scott can go also but that's never going to happen.

I agree with what you say, but isn't the GM also the President? I would think that the GM would rather be fired so he could keep his owed salary. Unless Scott fires him, I don't see that happening either. |

No it's not going to happen. That was another huge mistake. Giving a guy like Fletcher who has literally done nothing in the NHL, the whole ball of wax.

So true. I liked AV when he first came to the Flyers, but something has been lost and the PP ... not good. I usually don't say this, but maybe a new voice - too bad Scott Gordon isn't around anymore - he worked well with young talent. |
