Yea only other thing is they could possibly judge by his skating. Granted he looked horrible skating in that Dallas game and they still let him back. Let’s just say the Flyers medical staff is not performing their best either.

He has stated that this is the best he has felt in a year so I will take that for what it is worth. Hopefully it is not smoke and mirrors.

Fox on flyers would have put Fletch boy Seeler out "maybe"
- THE EVIL WITHIN

Scary thing FOX only 23! And better than all D men on Flyers since Pronger, Timonen, Desjardins

So, do you think the team is forcing him to play?
- MBFlyerfan

Only AV can answer that question...I think if you ask any player, regardless of their injuries, they'd say yes to playing a game, that's just their competitive nature...remember Hayes was pushing to get back in games before.

Is it just coincidence that the team is in need of help and he's back? Given that he's had two surgeries within months of one another, only to aggravate it again. I'd definitely err on the side of caution here with the player, regardless of how bad things are going with the club. They don't need the issue to get worse and drag on. Let him get 100% healthy, same with Ellis.

1) The Rangers are ranked 31st (dead last) in team Corsi . Flyers not much better at 29th. Rangers (6th from bottom) and Flyers (3rd from bottom) are also under water in expected goals.

2) Only in three of nine periods so far have Frost's line been less than 48 percent in Corsi. There were two rough ones that pull the numbers down but overall, it hasn't been caved.

Which is why I said tonight will be that one only because it’s 2 small wingers who are not good defensively & a rookie small center.

He stated this is the best he has felt in a year. In the end it is 100% on the player to decide if he is ready depending on how he feels.

And no I don't think it is a coincidence. Using that logic if they continue to be bad and in need of help, whenever he comes back will make it a coincidence.

did it ever come out exactly what he reinjured? guessing since he may return it wasn't additional tearing. wonder if it was a muscle strain or just scar tissue and inflammation. just weird. Same with Ellis. not sure exactly the issue, but to be out for weeks, come back and go right back down, i thought the next step would've been surgery. Unless same thing, if its a tendon inflamed or what not. just weird.

good news is allison may be playing this weekend.

Where would Brassard play in this lineup? Brassard hasn't been a good player for 5 years now.
- MJL

The discussion was who we were interested in before Thompson. No brassard wouldn’t have been my first choice. But would take him over Thompson for the 13 th forward.

Hummmm…maybe this is an indication of sharing the shifts on the right side D so Braun or Risto will sometimes be with Provy also. Well, whoever he is with, Provy needs to play his best. Everyone needs to communicate and put forth their best. Excellent defense leads to good offense. Let’s see it. I will watch every second tonight. Get the W.

Let’s go Flyers!

- NC Flyers Fan

I think you are right and maybe Seeler gets the O zone draws with Provy, they will be doing the keystone cops to hide both seeler and Yandle. I am curious if Yandle is any better with a quality defender like Braun

Even if he is medically ready to play. He is going to have to play his way back into game shape and that's going to take time.

It is not what I recall but I appreciate the repost. It certainly doesn't look like I got that one right. Thompson looks completely cooked and Brassard would certainly be a better player for the 4th line center at 5 on 5.

Outside of firing the coaches, what else can Fletcher do here? He's already flipped the roster a good portion in the off-season.

This is all on the players, imo.

I’ve never seen people talk so much about a first pairing D man (provy) needing to be paired w a “good” defenseman to play well.

A good dman makes mediocre partners good

- Fopa21

Spot on! Provey is supposed to be our best defenseman, a legitimate top pairing defenseman in the league, and yet he can only play well when he plays with an all-star!

Well. When all healthy he will have to reassess from there. This year and off-season will be interesting.

It’s very much on the players, JVR Lindblom the production these two have given has been unacceptable , TK Coots Farabee going long stretches of playing like crap. The coaches aren’t helping, the forecheck and zone exits/entries have been piss poor. The GM needs to take heat for his prized FA playing what 4 games total.

yes, and the coach. But the total lack of effort is 100% on the players.

Lack of execution on players.

Lack of readjusting on coaches.

Imo both parties are to blame.

They just don't have the right mix. Those players have the ability to score. Lindblom fell victim to his own frustration. He game has degraded after struggling to score. JVR just hasn't finished. The coaching staff waited way too long to make adjustments and the GM made a number of errors in his off season moves. They still don't have the right mix of players. Ellis was a trade, not a FA.
