It’s very much on the players, JVR Lindblom the production these two have given has been unacceptable , TK Coots Farabee going long stretches of playing like crap. The coaches aren’t helping, the forecheck and zone exits/entries have been piss poor. The GM needs to take heat for his prized FA playing what 4 games total. - ClaudeFather
Without his production jvr was still at least noticeable the first couple or 8 games but then fizzled. Oscar took a turn for the worse. Not what I expected from him. But was similar under hakstol. He made a mistake and was lowered in the lineup. Gordon promoted him and saw the dividends. Hopefully he will bounce back. If not that 3 mil salary hurts a bit. Jvr seven more. |

Outside of firing the coaches, what else can Fletcher do here? He's already flipped the roster a good portion in the off-season.
This is all on the players, imo. - KGBflyers10
There are a number of fundamental problems right now and they'd need a number of silver bullets to solve them all. Probably hard to line up the multiple major moves they'd need to really make a dent with the current cap situation across the league.
Maybe there's a team out there (Vancouver?) that is also looking to make a major shakeup that the Flyers could deal with... Pettersson, Boeser and Poolman for Coots, TK and Risto, something like that.
But Benning's probably about to get fired, so |

They just don't have the right mix. Those players have the ability to score. Lindblom fell victim to his own frustration. He game has degraded after struggling to score. JVR just hasn't finished. The coaching staff waited way too long to make adjustments and the GM made a number of errors in his off season moves. They still don't have the right mix of players. Ellis was a trade, not a FA. - MJL
Or maybe they had it and no longer do

They've effectively "lost" multiple players already... JVR they took him off the PP for some (frank)ing reason. Oskar they benched and cut his minutes. Just more evidence that the coaching staff has failed the team.

So those players that aren't contributing are on the GM for not the right mix? You will do anything to blame chuck wont you.
Oskar having 1 assist and -9 is on the GM... JVR having 2 goals in 20 games including lots of pp time is the on the GM. When are you goin to hold the players accountable?

Hopefully the Flyers actually play hard for a full 60 minutes. Maybe getting Hayes back in the lineup sparks the Fly Boys? I will be at tonight's game at MSG. It would suck to see the rags pin another 9 goals on the Flyers.
I agree with a previous poster, AV and his coaches need to make better in game adjustments. Doing the same thing game after game and expecting a better outcome is insanity... |

Didn't backread (yet... maybe), but the game will also be televised on the NHL Network (for the US outside of the Philly market). |

I haven't read any comments. No back reading. Nothing. I saw Seeler in the first pair and I would assume the internet, specifically hockeybuzz, shutdown today? |

Rangers record is definitely a bit of a mirage. Like the Flyers, they've been giving up a metric (frank)ton of chances and their goalies have had to bail them out continuously. They won't have such a sterling record for long. - Tomahawk
As I mentioned on the other thread, I think the important metric is HDCF (High Danger Chances For) over possession, since having possession does not necessarily mean you will generate High Danger scoring chances, as the Flyers routinely demonstrate. Right now the Flyers are 3rd from the bottom of the league in Scoring Chances For, and 39% of those chances are High Danger Chances. The Rangers are 5th from the bottom in Scoring Chances For, and 43% of their chances are High Danger Chances. So both teams struggle to generate scoring chances. The difference between the two teams is this, the Rangers are 18th in the league in HDCF% at 49%, meaning they give up slightly more HD chances than the generate but they are close to even. On the contrary, the Flyers are dead last in the league in HDCF% at 40%, meaning they give up many more HD chances than they generate. |

I have a feeling that the Flyers defense pairings are going to be somewhat fluid, especially after the First Period. |

Well according to CF the coaching staff was working all yesterday to figure this thing out, so Seeler at 2D must be the ticket. |

So you think its a good idea to keep JVR on the PP? Have you looked at his stats not only this year but the latter half of last year? The guy is completely dead weight, he's cooked! Oscar has 1 assist in 19 games this season and only 14 points in 50 games last season. Should AV put Oscar on the PP too just because?? |

It’s possible. I’d say 40 seconds. I hope I’m wrong but the Rangers are far and away better than nj and we couldn’t hang with them at all |

The correct thing to do as I posted back during the first part of the season was to move Lindblom up in the lineup. He was generating scoring chances and was strong on the forecheck. Putting him with Couturier or Giroux could've gotten him out of his finishing funk. They were slow on the draw. The signs were there all along. He had one line that was finishing but not generating enough chances. Another line was generating chances but not finishing. A mixed combination of the two, could've worked. They're teetering on the edge of losing the team for the season now.

BTW, do you know the model name given to the current Hyundai Accent that's built and sold in Russia? Hint: It's not "Accent" and it's a Latin word for something bright. |
