What is this BS talk about "getting (fill in the blank player) going?" We keep hearing them talk about this "getting him going" nonsense. What the heck does that even mean? As if JVR scoring a goal is all of a sudden going to turn him into the 30 goal $7M player that we expect him to be. As if a goal by some player all of a sudden turns their sh!tty play into great play. I hate that saying. It's announcer speak nonsense.

It's about confidence. A player struggling to score gets a bounce or get a couple to go in, it boosts his confidence.

One of the many problems the Flyers have is they move the puck so slow. Nothing quick or chrisp. Very lethargic.

Why would they get a shot on net there? Inconceivable.

I understand that's the theory but where does that actually translate in real life? I don't see it with the Flyers. Or anyone else for that matter. If a player needs to score one goal to get confidence, maybe they never had it in the first place. I don't really know but it just sounds stupid to me.
