True ..but the point is why feel the need to start with cautionary tales for the Leafs and the opposite for the Oilers.

Lots of realities and facts out there to choose from and point out in your wake up posts.

More blue coffee Fakesy!

Im not. Neither have anything to do with eachother. The oilers have some good d pieces, which is what i and i believe another poster posted in a reply.

Not much to laugh about, Leafs are currently playing like the best team in the NHL.

Hell, even Kadri scoring 2 goals yesterday isn't something the trolls can grasp on.

Trust me, I tried.

- Scabeh

Did he score 2? I thought it was only 1?

Edit: crap he did.....its the leafs way. Plus hes on a heater as well.
Hes gonna get paid.

Definitely a good fit.
Leafs would have retained him if they could have afforded him.

Concern is longevity. He was starting to get injured and it may be that that is a problem for a guy who plays that hard.

As you correctly pointed out, Leafs didn't have $5.5 M a year to pay Hyman and would have probably kept him if it was $4M or less. Luckily since they have an excellent GM and they acquired Bunting at $950K per season. Bunting 17 points playing mostly with Matthews and Marner and second unit power play, Hyman 17 points playing mostly with McDavid and on the first unit power play. In addition, McDavid and Draisaitl have both been scoring well all year, Matthews missed a few games and he and Marner are just now starting to score at their high standard.

Bunting = Hyman..
Glad, the one we have is not being paid $5.5M per season.

Perfect example of not overpaying a player and replacing him by a similar, cheaper option.

Great job by Dubas on this one.

Most players are going to be a good fit with McDavid. Look at Draisaitl's point splits with/without McDavid. Lot's of people think of him as an elite player but he scores at a pretty average pace without McDAvid.

That said, Hyman is a good role player. Heart and sole, 100% effort all the time.

He hasn't been worth the cost of acquisition so far.

Ya, my Avs friends are not too happy with his play. They're starting to wonder when the Avs will go after another Hab 'tender.

so far so good...

I've been impressed with Bunting, I like his game.. I think he fits well with Matthews and Marner. As long as he can get himself in the right position and can be a bit of an agitator, he's exactly what the top line needs.. I'm happy he does not take stupid penalties.

Plus, we have him for one more year after this season.

Yes, a separate post, nothing to do with the oilers.
I said it "could" have had an impact, even though his season has been up and down.
Again, it wasnt a negative post.
Oh and i wasnt the only one that posted about the goalie either.

But ok.

It was a fun game.

If the Habs are willing the eat a significant part of Price's salary, he could be the missing piece for a stanley cup for sure.

Don’t agree. You don’t pass up full 2-on-1 rushes and everybody was back when the Avs scored.

I liked what I saw from day one with him. Was charging the net, giving defensemen trouble... results of his hard work and being paired with very talented players is paying off.

Well considering how another goaltender I consider average (Grubauer) performed in the same setting, it was easy to see Kuemper as a high fantasy value pick.

I'm not exactly sure why results have been underwhelming but he needs to be better if Colorado wants to compete for the cup, they have everything else needed to do so.

That line was so good last night. All three of them stripping pucks from the Avs, battling and creating scoring chances. It was as good as anything they had going when Zach was there.
