You make it sound like Ritchie is paid way more than 2.5M per season.
- Scabeh
No, but if he found a spot beside Matthews he could have been. |

It is fir the fourth line when the top guys are paid what they’re paid. 2.5M was fine if he was playing on the top line.
I like that he’s playing better but he’s an expensive luxury - Canada Cup
poop happens.
Isles did just fine paying a little more to some of their 3/4th liners |

Right _now_ they'd need 96 points, based on Boston's projection - but your point is well taken. Basically to get _there_, they'd need to go 38-21-8 which is .646. Last year they were @ .634; the last time they had a winning percentage that high was 1983-84, when they lost the Cup Finals to the Oilers and their dynasty ended.
Yikes. - Monkeypunk
yeah, piont being they have a pretty big hole to dig out of if they want to make it. |

Let me put some numbers to it:
The Islanders currently have a .353 winning percentage, and are on a pace for a 58 point season.
If you assume a team will need 98 points to make the playoffs (kind of an edumacated guess, based upon history), they need to play at a .662 pace for the rest of the season. That's the equivalent of playing at a 108 point season over 82 games.
That's going to be tough. - Atomic Wedgie
If Varlamov and Sorokin play like they did last year, maybe? |

Since some still inexplicably think that Holl is good, I say we trade Holl for Bouchard. |

Had the avs had their starter it may have been much closer or a different outcome. But they didnt so a win is a win. - Fakepartofme
I honestly doubt it.
Yeah, that guy sucks, but a lot of those goals are beating most goalies. And Kuemper ain't exactly lighting the world on fire. Trust me. I got him in multiple fantasy leagues. |

Hernia surgery went well. I expect to be banned shortly. I finally replied to Cush.. So,, see you whenever.. - bixll
I'll tell you what because whatever your angry about it fairly far in the past - you can treat me with the same respect as what everyone here should be afforded and you will get it back.
Alternately if you want to go into comments and basically call me out and dare me to ban you and/or send me another pm like the one you sent earlier today I will be happy to oblige you with a ban.
Enjoy your day. |

so far so good...
I've been impressed with Bunting, I like his game.. I think he fits well with Matthews and Marner. As long as he can get himself in the right position and can be a bit of an agitator, he's exactly what the top line needs.. I'm happy he does not take stupid penalties.
Plus, we have him for one more year after this season. - PatC80
I think the refs could pretty easily start calling him for diving, though. |

My wife has the cars tuned to an all-Christmas station. My distaste is at constant odds with my laziness about changing the channel. |

Last December when my station went to all Christmas I started listening to a top 40 one. My car has a screen that shows the artist’s names and I discovered that almost all current songs feature another artist.
Bieber had one featuring someone called Chance the Rapper. He belted out a bunch of nonsensical rhymes, even threw in a Joe Pesci. |
