You're obviously the guy with the answers if you think getting rid of Jeff Carter was the right move. LOL. - iamscore2day
I have absolutely “no” answers. I’m pretty sure I never said getting rid of Carter was the right move. I did say it led to two pretty good players for the Flyers to build around…try to keep up. |

I’ve said it before and I’ll say it again. The Flyers way simply does not work anymore.
What are we at now, 7 coaches and 3 gms in the last 10 years?
You have to commit to a full scale rebuild at some point in the modern NHL. The last 10 years has been band-aid after band-aid.
It’s better to try and fail than to tread in the waters of mediocrity for an entire decade imo. - hereticpride
Hit the nail on the head. It’s the only way out of this. They need about 5-7 of top picks and to hopefully hit on them.
They need talent. They have very very little. No explosiveness. Next to go should be Fletcher.
Tocchet is not a good coach. Idiotic to bring him in. They do that and I’m done. |

“Fantastic” come on. He’s one dimensional & he isn’t that elite in that one dimension-offensively to be “fantastic”. His stats are bloated by being the #1 guy here for his entire tenure. If he was so fantastic he would of been a bigger part of team canadas when he was leading guy in NHL. Their point is to field the best team & if he is fantastic he would of been a big part of those teams. Highly highly highly overrated - Fopa21
I do think G was a fantastic player…even elite…for a couple of years. I’m not going to discount his past because of what he is now. |

You are beyond clueless, why would they buy out JVR...he has one more year. Next years team will stink , let him play it out. - ClaudeFather
Buying JVR out of his final year would save this team $4.6M in cap space next season, which is the price of a solid 2nd pairing defenseman. IMO, it is you who are clueless! |

Hilarious that Fletcher is holding a press conference with Yeo. Two slugs who basically ran the Wild into the ground. |

And what would it do to the cap the following 2-3 years? A price of a 2nd pair Dman, for what? They have no idea what the summer or the rest of the year holds. Suggesting buying him out just shows how little you know. |

Again his post game last night. “We’re working too hard right now & not getting results but if we win one than two than three we we won’t have to work as hard because we will be rolling”
The guy is a joke. That is not how a captain or leader should be leading or saying & it couldn’t be further from the truth. You have to work harder & harder. 3 game winning streaks don’t get easier the next game is always harder to win than the last. However, the difference is positive results make the hard work seem not as hard. Yet he thinks the more you win the less you have to work. A total idiot |

Next year. Or end of this season. The it’s pool is rather weak. If the wheels stay off the bus. Do what the rages did. Sell everything and draft this year. Deep pool or is supposed to be. |

Most of my comments are about what I think they will do. I do think they don’t have to do a full rebuild. Is that the answer? I really don’t know. I do remember some of you comments though and realize your answers to fix this are astoundingly bad. |

Not as much that specific comment. But I have seen last nights press conference about 30 times through the last 10 years. The same cliche sayings over and over again. |

As the Rangers demonstrated, successful rebuilds are a combination of drafting good players, making sound trades and signing good complimentary pieces. Its incomprehensible that would want the watch JVR lumber around the ice for another season after this one at $7M!!! |

Atkinson will be captain by the end of the season. No use in arguing over G anymore. |

Actually it would save the team 2.666 next season and cost them 1.333 in the season after that. |

The change needed to be made, that was obvious a few games earlier. The timing suggests more incompetence by the GM.
No one should trust anyone in the current power structure in the Flyers organization to make the right decisions moving forward. The GM should be removed immediately, followed by forced retirement of Paul Holmgren (no "consulting" gigs either, go to the Jersey Shore).
I couldn't be more angry at the way this franchise handled Ron Hextall. They had someone in Hextall that was doing things the right way and what he was hired to do. Change the way the organization does business in a cap league. I'll say it again, the only mistake he made was not tearing it down to the studs when he was first hired. But the approach he took could still be successful but would take longer. Then, the old guard company stooges, headed by Dave Scott and aided and abetted by Paul Holmgren, lost patience and went back to the old ways.
It is completely shameful what the past players in this organization have done to damage the current team as well. I'm talking about the nonsense of not having locker room access or being treated well during the Hextall era. Grow up. Your time is over. The franchise was moving on without you and instead of taking it like a man there was whining behind the GM's back to Holmgren, which contributed to the loss of patience by management.
So what happens next? Listening to the presser right now, it appears no lessons will be learned. I am fully expecting the team to go on a winning streak just long enough for people to buy back in to the same old crappy process. Mission accomplished by Dave Scott and Comcast. |

Yes I agree, sell off as much as you can this season, but you still need to fill out the roster next season and you will need cap space to do so and JVR is a perfect buyout candidate in the off season. |

Give us a break with Rangers rebuild, please. The league gifted them #2 and then #1 picks in successive years because it wants a winning team in NYC. That rebuild is not representative of what is possible for teams in secondary markets like Philly. |
