A new coach on a 2 year deal doesn't hamstring a new GM. He's going to get this season but he very well could be shown the door in the offseason. He also could possibly get an extension next season if the team turns it around.
You can't rush the GM move, but you absolutely need a new voice in that locker room.

I think he lost them then as a strategist but I think some of them still liked him as a player’s coach since he seemed to let the players run the room.
That's a tough one. At the time there were warning signs for sure, but it was easy to see last season as a one-off stumble given their success in the bubble
